Staff were marvelous in every way. The floor boards through the bedroom area were very loud and moved way too much under ones feet. Needs urgen repair. Dining was good especially the Sea Bream 10/10, sadly the Fillet steak at £39 was dissapointing. If it was Fillet. 3/10 It's lovely place, fix the floorboards and take the fillet off the menu.

This is a great hotel on the banks of the river with lovely views Our room was fantastic with a large bathroom including big bath and separate shower cubicle Staff were all excellent and good fun as well Great choice of dishes on the menu and lovely food when it arrived. They have a great snug bar in an old part of the hotel with proper fires as well Brilliant place to stay at

The hotel is in a lovely setting. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The website shows pictures of most of the rooms, however there are a few that don’t appear to have been renovated, and these rooms don’t appear on the website. These older rooms are in a listed part of the building where you constantly hear pumps that maintain water pressure. Although it isn’t constant, it is frequent and goes on and off all the time. The room was tired and had stains down the walls, cobwebs in corners and on the light fixture. Where bulbs weren’t working, it highlighted the accumulation of dust. I would come back to the hotel, but would definitely not stay in the same part of the building.

Great place to stay
Booked last minute as we had a funeral to attend. We checked the reviews and all said good. Our take on this hotel was everything was excellent, very welcoming staff, lovely location and great value. We will be back.

Terrific hotel and fabulous food.
I love this place, a lovely room with a river view. The bathroom was immaculate and modern. Booked dinner in the Poachers restaurant and the food and drinks were excellent. Beautiful surroundings with a lot of history.

We stay every year for our wedding anniversary, Stay was lovely as usual, four poster room was great. Very welcoming & clean. Only negative was our dinner was ruined by the sheer size of the burger. Completely inedible. Starters, cheeseboard & full Scottish breakfast were all lovely, shame about the burger at dinner. We will return again next year.

We stayed here as a surprise for my birthday, the wife. My husband had booked the best room, - premium room with 4 poster bed. The room was lovely, the views, the light into the room . However, there were issues with the room. The tiles in the bathroom on the floor were cracked, the blinds not working properly and the windows not staying open safely. The shower pressure was poor for the 2 nights we stayed, especially the handheld for the bath. I did mention poor water pressure. On the morning we were leaving my inquisitive husband discovered, in a cupboard, in the landing was a shower pump, which was turned off.! This made no difference to the bath. It's obviously turned off as it is noisy throughout the hotel as it is connected to the toilet, sinks and bath also. We also were not given any information about where things were or breakfast, etc. Check in reception is literally,here’s your key, that's your room. Such a shame, as it is a beautiful room and it was supposed to be a beautiful surprise for me and this is used as the bridal suite.

Room was great, clean & nice new bathrooms. Staff all polite. Arrived @9pm told dining was available as well as room service. Called at 9:05 told restaurant was closed and I can only have soup or a sandwich!! 4am up for a flight, 9pm No ‘Cooked Meal’ but early guys, especially as I was asked if I would eat on arrival.
