The hotel was pleasant and had a really good restaurant. The downside was because we had booked through Expedia and not direct with the hotel we had to pay for parking.

The room was cold when we arrived. The heating took a long time to make to room feel comfortable. It was a pleasant nights sleep. In the morning the heating and lighting failed to work. Resorted to using the table lamp while having a shower. When we told reception there was no maintenance person working on a Sunday . Also would have liked to use the swimming pool but it was closed . Breakfast was very nice so much choice .

Toilet could be replaced, think theres some plumbing issues. No plugs beside the bed. No proper light for room, only lamps with out of sync switches next to them. No tea or coffee tray in the room. Small pillows.

Staff brilliant. Certain maintenance needs done in rooms. And facilities offered as part of stay unavailable as not working. Breakfast hotplates dont seem to keep food above decent heat as everything only seemed lukewarm. Only thing guaranteed to be hot was fried or poached eggs

Everything fine but unfortunately let down by a cold breakfast, I suppose that’s what can happen if it’s a buffet breakfast.

impossible to sleep
hotel very hot impossible to get room cool, beds are like rock hard lots of road noise and boy racers at night, have stayed here on business a few times but this has really changed and not for the better.

Very long walk to the room, room was a little tired, bed being on wheels means sitting up in bed is a challenge with out falling down the back. Found the bed quite uncomfortable. Window didn’t shut properly due to a broken handle so the loud road outside was a constant irritant. Check in staff refused cash as a payment. Small tv in the room but working on most channels. Shower was either roasting or cold. Just a typical old budget hotel in need of a refurb.

Would not hurry back
The hotel itself is very dated. Drafty rooms , with single pane windows. Only heat option is the ceiling mounted until which sounds like an aeroplane. Not a comfortable sleep at all. The pool area was not the cleanest, I would describe as grubby. Dinner was nice but definitely overpriced- staff were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was “ok” but again way overpriced.

The last time we stayed here a member of staff entred out room without warning, around 8am. We complained and they said it was because we did not have a do not disturb sign on our door. This time there were no do not disturb signs in our room or on any other doors. We called reception to ask for one which they said would be brought up. Eventually we went to reception as one did not arrive at our room. We received a do not disturb sign and kept it on our door the remainder of our stay. We went out in the evening and when we arrived back to our room someone had been in and opened a window making the room cold for our young child. Frustrating staff keep entering our room when they shouldn't.

We loved our stay from start to finish. The only thing was the pool was mega busy so we attempt morning, in the busy again but not so much, maybe for future allocation to just adult session within your timetable if possible

Room was opposite a door that said 'Angus Room' I wonder if it was a cleaning cupboard. Noise continuously throughout the night of door banging and very creaky when opening. Poor sleep. Then in the morning a cleaner walked straight into our room. Mentioned all this at check out and the receptionist had an attitude like he couldn't care less. Disappointing.

Overall good. Clean. Booked it for the pool. Took kids down to the pool about 7 pm to be told it's full. Got in an hour later. Were then an hour later to dinner at 9pm to be told kids needed to be out restaurant by 10pm. Ended up taking half eaten dinner to room. Rest of stay quite nice.

The stay was nice, food and service really good. The lobby/restaurant/bar were stunning and looked newly refurbished. The pool area and rooms while clean and fine did need some updating.
