We had wonderful stay during a wedding weekend. Although, our travelling experience was nightmare. It was lovely to finally arrive at Banchory Lodge. The scenary is amazing, the breakfast was lovely. Staff were friendly. Thank you for our stay and first Scottish experience, we'd love to return.

A New Favourite
One of the best “Twixmas" breaks we've had in the most dog friendly hotel we've found. Staff couldn't have been nicer to us and our hairy companion. Location ideal (and beautiful), room very comfortable and spacious and food excellent. Thanks to all staff and we'll be back.

We had an excellent stay in a super room,all staff were friendly and approachable,it’s a beautiful hotel. The girl who checked us in was very friendly and professional. Only downside was the amount of emails sent regarding check in two phone calls,I was sent a link,to check in at least twice,I was unable to open the link ,I then phoned the hotel to advise I couldn’t open the link, I was told all was OK,the next day I received a call asking for more details,the night before I checked in I was sent another email regarding check in . Left me feeling a bit frustrated. The previous night we stayed at the Tor Na Coille, check in took less than one minute,and no emails,apart from one confirming conformation.

Pleasant revisit 25 years on
We were history repeating - staying at Banchory Lodge to visit our daughter in Aberdeen as my parents often did 3 decades ago to me! We hadn’t been there since we left the area nearly 25 years ago and it was nice to find the place feeling familiar. It has changed and developed since then, but still had a homely feel and we had excellent food and a very nice room with a comfortable bed - a bid deal for us these days! We missed the lovely lounge - now a dining room, and the old panelled dining room which is now a function suite. I’d have liked somewhere comfortable to sit for coffee after dinner - or, if staying longer, to sit and read etc. But I guess it’s serving meals that pays the bills now. The location is as lovely as ever and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Outstanding Staff
Staff at Banchory Lodge were outstanding. This was a trip for my Mum to meet with long-standing friends. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved the individual designs. The highlight was how the team, knowing we were meeting friends for dinner in the restaurant and that there were hearing issues and infection vulnerabilities, found us a perfect quiet, separate location for dinner. Excellent breakfasts and dinner. Highly recommended.

The location is beautiful right on the river. The room was nice but the bathroom was a bit dated, which wasn’t in keeping with the room standard. The dining room is beautiful and the food was very nice. Staff are very friendly. It would have been nice to have an area of the bar to retire to for a drink. As the hotel was full all tables in the bar were set for dinner.

Royal Deeside Stay.
We stayed in a beautiful room with a view of the river which was spotlessly clean. The staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even providing a cooked breakfast one hour early on our departure day. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful location and very friendly staff. We had a family emergency and the hotel was very flexible and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place. The only improvement I would make is adding a charging pole for electric vehicles.

Very enjoyable stay with a few puzzles thrown in
I’d return without a doubt so that tells a story. Lovely stay. Very nice food. Great service. Very nice staff. My lunch order was sent to another table but they didn’t charge me as a result. My main criticism is that it’s a bit odd a staying resident can’t have a drink in the bar unless you have a dinner table booked as there is nowhere else to sit other than outside. You are left wandering around like a nomad with a beer glass waiting for time to pass or heading back to your room. I’m also not a fan of the huge number of dirty glasses which accumulate on the bar, so even ordering a drink at the bar becomes awkward. I stopped counting at 50-60. I’m not sure why that’s so hard to sort out and it would add a little more polish and class to what is a lovely place to stay. Normally all these little wrinkles including lunch would stop me returning so it’s impressive it hasn’t.

Wonderful!!
We stayed at Banchory lodge for our first wedding anniversary and it was just perfect. The hotel and grounds is stunning with River Dee on your door step, service was great, and food delicious (bonus points for a very generous breakfast menu!). Lovely outside bar/restaurant too, although we did not get to experience it properly due to rainy weather. There are loads of activities nearby- hiking, fishing, golfing, etc., as well as some lovely villages to explore. Throughout our stay, we felt very well looked after by friendly and attentive staff, and they even gave us a free room upgrade for the occasion, and the room was just lovely. For our anniversary dinner, we were seated by the window overlooking the river and the food and service was fantastic. A huge thanks to Megan, Annamaria, and all staff for making our stay so special. Elsker dette hotellet. Dette var mitt andre besøk her. Her får du masse sjel og atmosfære. Elsket mitt rom med utsikt til elven. Nydelige omgivelser. Rommet var stort og flott med himmelseng og god madrass. Banchory Lodge er gammelt så du må regne med litt knirk og litt skjeve gulv, men det er det som gjør det så koselig. Fantastisk hyggelig personale med veldig god service. Og maten er helt nydelig, alt vi smakte var kjempegodt. På minussiden, vi gledet oss til tradisjonell Afternoon tea, men det var fjernet fra menyen. Det var en stor skuffelse. Alt i alt veldig fornøyd og jeg kommer nok helt sikkert tilbake.

We absolutely loved Banchory Lodge! It’s common for a hotel I book to be less than I’d hoped for, but Banchory truly delivered! The location is stunning and we loved all the attention to detail that was put in—the decorations and artistic details really made it such a lovely stay. So many hotels in Scotland seem to go with the traditional tartan theme, which is nice but…overplayed. We really felt the love and attention put into the Lodge. The staff was very warm and welcoming as well. I’d love to return and stay several nights!

Had taken my friends who were visiting Scotland to stay and we were looking forward to our lunch but instead had to have brunch in the bar. Had I known in advance I would have had lunch or dinner in the restaurant. Also feel that there should be a residents lounge so that you can just sit and relax especially if you were there for more than one night. Otherwise, beautiful rooms and nice staff overall

Perhaps Easter Saturday was not the best time to choose to stay here for one night. Our bedroom was lovely, bed very comfortable, but the disappointment was our evening meal. We shared a salt baked beets and goats cheese which was lovely, but my main of pan fried seabass (£19) was the smallest quarter of fish, very little fish, but lots of prawn crackers! My husbands Wagyu beef burger (£18) was overcooked and shrunken but worst for him was celeriac and apple slaw drowned in a Marie Rose type sauce, a remoulade type sauce which let the ingrediants show through would have been preferable. We expressed our disappointment to the waiter and he did deduct my meal from the bill. We found the cooked breakfast we chose to be nicely cooked and presented but the self service table for other items was quite small and had nothing like the variety of items we had in a chain hotel we stayed in the previous 4 nights - there was no yogurt and no fresh fruit, though because the dining room was very busy, the staff had probably not had time to replenish. All in all the staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the location is beautiful.
