We booked for two nights and paid accordingly,however after booking we were advised by my wife's doctor that she had an appointment, that in her own interests she would have to attend.
On arrival at the Douglas I did inform who I believe was either the owner or manager of our predicament.

I contacted a member of Hotels . Com ,she was very helpful ,she phoned the hotel,then contacted her supervisor at Hotels.com,we were offered compensation,the amount offered was in my opinion considering the circumstances an insult.
