This a lovely hotel. We stayed in the Banffshire room, which we s a great room. The only thing that was wrong with the room was the bathroom sink, which was cracked and really unfit for purpose. The tap above the sink, whilst looking stylish, it was not at all easy to use. The tiny lever gave 3 position hot, cold and somewhere in between. It was stiff to operate it and my wife was not able to use the tap without my assistance. If you have any weakness in your hands you will struggle. Clearly functionality was not a consideration when the bathroom fittings were selected.
The food was excellent but the service could be painfully slow. We waited 30 mins to order breakfast and then only when I had a word with a member of staff.
So overall, a lovely and comfortable hotel, but it needs to brush up its act to get a higher rating.
