This is a historic property. This means that the doors use keys, the floors slope a bit, and the stairs creak. And it’s an absolutely beautiful and charming resort. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful. In center of town, walk to shops. Free valet parking is very helpful. Hotel has character, uneven floors, but that is part of the charm.

My husband and I stay here once a year for our Anniversary. It’s decorated for the holidays and they play holiday music. The staff is fantastic. Everything is in walking distance. The bed is comfortable, the concierge desk is fantastic. I love the deep bathtubs 🛀 in the rooms! Everything is super clean. Every staff member has been great.

Issues with some of the service
It was a beautiful stay with lovely amenities. I felt the service at the spa and coffee shop and the lobby staff was less than excellent. These areas and related staff were not responsive or helpful when needed. The valet, brown room, boiler room and blue pig tavern all were very helpful.

Loved the staff treatment, including the superior, FREE, valet parking. The bars and restaurants in the hotel are amazing, with lots of options. My only drawback was the room, which was a queen and quite small and stuffy. The bedding, pillows and towels were excellent and ,made the stay comfortable.
