Obviously this guest is not comfortable out of the city. In the country, you will find spiderwebs that often are spun overnight. The property is sprayed routinely but there will be a spider showing up occasionally. This is the first time any complaints were made of ANY bed in the house. People typically tell us how comfortable they are and want to know the mattress brand. There was very poor communication with this guest. There was a tree limb that fell and partially blocked the driveway. The guest never reported it and just drove over the grass and broke the light decorations. As soon as I saw the tree limb down mid stay, it was removed in an hour. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen and if you are bothered by a spider web, stay out of the country.

Property was cleaned the day before. Being in the county is is not uncommon for dust particles to come in when doors open. VRBO contract and house rules were not followed and had to pay cleaning service extra due to their need to stay longer to clean up the extreme mess they left behind. The property was left in disarray: clothes and toiletries left everywhere, kitchen left a mess, garbage not taken to cans, the Lodge's large selection of DVDs pulled out and left all over the floor...very disappointing.

Great guest! Danelle’s feedback was appreciated and responded on! The property is under new management and all kitchen issues in her review have all been taken care of as well as additional features like toddler plates, cups and utensils, cooking supplies, spices, additional specialty cooking tools, bar and wine glasses, etc. to name a few. On the water comments, if the lodge has been empty longer than 2-3 weeks, the water will need to be run for about 15 minutes to clear the well water out of the pipes (this normally occurs during the cooler months). I will definitely make sure to mention that to the next guest if the lodge hasn’t been occupied a week or two prior! In 5 years of renting, I have only written one bad review of a guest and this is my second. This is the type of guest that owners dread; no one wants to leave a bad review if they can avoid it. At 7 pm, the guest said she was 2.5 hours out and needed the code. After sending, I sent the house information again for convenience. At 1:30 AM, I was awakened by a VRBO notice. She had a list of issues (including cobwebs on the OUTSIDE of a country house. Really?) and stated she was going to spend that night there but was leaving in the morning. I asked her to send photos of issues in the morning. She never did. I had an HVAC tech there in the morning doing routine service. He told me they left the house that morning with the door OPEN and that he would shut it for me, so they never left early. Prior to their arrival the cleaning crew noted no problems. When they cleaned after this guest: The mantle clock was broken and the glass face was missing. There was a stain on the new ottoman and new sleeper sofa, pans and dishes stacked chest high , trash was left on the back porch, the dishwasher was not run but packed with more dishes, the refrigerator shelves were stained red and wont' come out, there was evidence of smoking, rocks were left in one of the sinks, a make shift fire pit was built in the driveway with rocks and left there with trash mixed in with the charred material, trash was in the yard. I would not recommend this guest to any other home owners. Period.

Yes there was a mix up with the trash pick up. It was my understanding the cleaning people were going to get the trash when they left. They meant the trash in the house not in the cans. I had sent them back out to get the trash and they cleaned the kitchen trash again but not the cans behind the house. I was going to have someone else get the trash in the cans but my guest had already taken the bags out to fit more trash in. Because of this mix up and his trouble, I had sent him a $100 check to make up for the aggravation. I didn't know about the dishes left in the dishwasher. I will make sure that is addressed with the cleaning people.
