The property is unique and serene, set back into the woods a bit, the pool and garden areas being extravagantly laid out. Such a beautiful setting to spend the day. Our primary reason for the stay was to relax and enjoy the pool area...this property certainly offers that. The owner, Veronica, was communicative both during the booking process and our stay. She resides in a separate residence on the property and was accessible to troubleshoot almost immediately on every occasion...of which there were a few too many. Read on. All beds were neatly made with chocolates at the bedside, an abundance of clean towels provided, and other details were really appreciated. The house is large and spacious, and 20-25 years ago would’ve been considered very luxurious. And it certainly has a one of a kind charm...however it is a bit dated and could use a thorough cleaning and overhaul in some areas. Key issues were: the hot tub was essentially not usable as it makes a very loud gurgling noise when turned on fully. Cold or loud...neither were enticing. The entire pool/spa heating system was complicated and while Veronica did her best to manage this, she spent a lot of time trying to figure it out, which meant we saw her quite frequently. If you’re visiting for peace and privacy, this is a distraction. Also the pool chemicals need to be better managed. The first day we dealt with excessive chlorine leaving an intense smell and burning eyes. Finally, after checkout the owner claimed we damaged three items which absolutely we’re not damaged by us. Highly disappointed with this. While the stay could have been spectacular considering the lavish arrangements, the issues with quality, interruptions by the owner for troubleshooting, and erroneous claims means we will not return.
