Staff was welcoming, the rooms itself was very clean and smelt of bleach which for me is pleasant. The beds, 2 singles put together, very hard and dipped in the middle so you was always laying in a dip which caused havoc on my back. The noise! Hope you are a heavy sleeper, you may well of slept with the windows open. Too noisy for me and having stayed in Rome before on several occasions by the Vatican and Spain’s, we found this property a little too far to walk everywhere, upon check out we was informed we had to pay city tax and resort fees, which wasn’t explained upon check in and then wanted it in cash only. Beautiful views on the roof terrace. But we wouldn’t stay here again.

We liked it since it was our Roman adventure. Our room was right by about 10 different transportation lines and the different sounds of various transports were loud, but added a unique flavor to our stay. Loved the trolley whistles. While this property wasn't for everyone, we will remember it always. The only thing I disliked was the smell upon entering the room. The staff offered to change our room, but I didn't think any of the other rooms would smell better, and we were pretty settled in our room. Be aware that they charge you a per day "resort fee" (they didn't call it that) that you have to pay in cash at the end of your stay. Yolanda who checked us in was such a delight, really made our stay although we never saw her after the first couple of days. The others were not as friendly.

Dear guest thank you for your review. Only to clarify the "resort fee" : All hotels, vacation rentals, B&B, are technically required to collect a hotel tax in Rome. This tax is often requested to be paid in cash because it is turned over to the authorities rather than going to the business itself. The tourist tax is not a scam, but you are absolutely entitled to an official receipt. Feel free to request one. The amount you pay for the tourist tax in Rome depends on the type of hotel you are staying at. The price goes up based on the number of stars that your hotel has. Best Regards Hotel Latinum

Stayed here for overnight before I got on a ferry to the Greek Isles. Short walk from bus line drop off coming from airport. $6 cab ride to ferries that was less than 5 min. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant that was absolutely delicious. Rooms were basic but clean and adequate for my needs.

Cozy hotel close to Termini with friendly staff
Visiting Rome for couple of days and seeing the sights. Latinum was really comfortable and cozy hotel in Rome with a bus stop right outside and a tram just across the street to help getting around. The staff was super nice and accommodating, breakfast was good and the room was clean.

Pleasant stay
Room was a good size compared to other European hotels I’ve experienced. Has all necessary amenities. Bathroom was very clean and appealing. Staff were accommodating. Taxi drop off & pick up was a bit awkward due to busy location. It’s not within walking distance of major attractions but can be easily accessed by transit. Lobby is intriguing with glass floor exposing ruins below - a real glimpse of Rome.

Needs Updating
As soon as we got there I wanted to go find another hotel. We came in around 8pm & very hungry but really no place to eat around except about 2-3 blocks away. Lots of graffiti on the walls and buildings of the neighborhood. Kind of scary. The place is so dated and dim. Needs updating it’s definitely not 4 star hotel, it doesn’t look like a hotel at all. We decided to stay because it’s just for one night anyway and flying out early, we were given a room in 3rd floor. AC was the one making the strange noise as noted by another reviewer. I turned off the AC and the noise stopped! We didn’t sleep the whole night just waited for the taxi that the owner arranged to come by around 4:30am because our flight is at 7am. The owner (older gentleman) is very helpful though and stayed the whole time downstairs in the bedroom by the counter where he came out when we emerged from the elevator. I think the owner is very nice but the place needs lots of light more brightness, better lighting, fresh paint, new flooring and brighter colorful beddings. Bigger TV.

Great place for a city break
The room was indeed clean, and the staff very nice, friendly, and helpful. You can see that the building is old, and it shows a bit, but they are doing their best to maintain it up to date. It is also very conviniently located near Termini train station, and Colloseum. You cannot expect the highest luxury here, but is a great place for a city break to Rome.

The room is small but clean. The service was great and the location is close to bus and train station and very convenient to major hot spots. However, you can hear the traffic all night and it was very noise.

Great bang for the buck
The hotel staff was very supportive and informative. The hotel was intimate, clean, well-maintained and very conveniently located close enough to the sites of Rome without being so close to be too expensive. The hotel was easily accessible to Termini station via tram. There are ruins from the Roman aqueduct right outside the hotel in the piazza! beautiful!! Their phone system was a challenge because they didn't tell me how to use it. But, once you know, it's easy to make local calls. I really enjoyed it and when i realized i needed to stay longer, deciding to use that hotel was a no-brainer!

Lovely sty during our visit to Rome
Staff were so helpful!!!! Really informative and catered for our needs. Room was clean and had some lovely extras like a power shower, fridge and a really good location. Unfortunately there was just a couple of things that would have made the stay a tiny bit better. Couple of things broken such as toilet seat, shower door and the towels were bad quality almost like bedsheets. It is very noisy with outside traffic from trams, however I think you will get this anywhere to be honest as it's the nature of the city. Those couple of comments were the only negatives and minor things that would have made the stay perfect. I could not fault the staff 😃 Lovely homely feel.

Great family run hotel, nothing was to much trouble, it was a 25 minute walk from termini station, I was out till 1-2 in the morning and felt safe walking back to the hotel, overall a great stay

Clean, boutique hotel that is conveniently located
The hotel is five tram stops from Termini station. It is conveniently located to several restaurants in the local vicinity. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast (continental) was great. All in all, I would stay at Hotel Latinum again.

Lovely family run hotel
A lovely, friendly, family run hotel close to public transport links. Room was spacious with a small balcony overlooking the square (very entertaining watching the traffic navigate the non existent lanes) nicely fitted bathroom. Room was very clean and had all the usual facilities and mini bar prices were not extortionate. On the 4th floor is a lovely little roof terrace open to guests...very nice after a long day walking. We had one or two niggles whilst staying but on mentioning to the owners everything was sorted immediately. Great service. Only downside is that it's not in the best area for local bars and restaurants and if local transport go on strike it's taxis only.

The location of this hotel is very convenient . You step out there is a bus stop, cross the street there is a tram stop which will take you all directions. The staff at the reception are extremely helpful. They tell you where to go and how to reach there. Our stay was worth a while because of all the helpful notes we got every morning before heading out. Please be aware to pay your city taxes at the beginning of your stay so you are not surprised with the amount.

Nice Hotel & convenient location.
It's very nice hotel compare to others in Italy. Right at the Bus /Tram stations. To Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore ( 3 bus stops). The area look unsafe but we didn't go out late at night, so it seems fine to us. Very convenient location.

Good area
Hotel is in a good location and easy transport connections to the most iconic and historical part of Rome and Termini station. It's just 20 minutes walk to Colosseum. Rooms are very clean and staff are friendly, it seems there is a family business and they care about customer satisfactions. In overall I had a good time there.

Room was well sized but noisy and too warm
The room itself was a good size especially for European standards. However, we were on the top floor (3) and could still hear all the traffic noise and constant sirens with the window closed. Also, the heat kept turning on its own, keeping the room uncomfortably hot. The area the hotel is in does not give off the safest vibes, especially for first time tourists.

The room was nice and the staff were friendly, I emailed the hotel to leave a surprise for my girlfriend for her birthday and they had a cake and other stuff waiting for when we got there, really good.

Unable to modify reservation
Due to a cancelled flight we attempted to modify our reservation. The hotel staff we unable to do so and expedia did not get back to us in a timely fashion to do so either. No refund of money. When I sent comments to the hotel regarding this (through expedia requested feedback) the staff was very offended and rude. I just wanted to change the date. We were never able to check in.

Great boutique Hotel in central location
Staff all very friendly and English speaking and extremely helpful with all our enquiries. Our room was on the 3rd floor with balcony overlooking Porta Maggiore which was lovely but there was an unpleasant smell in the room which we advised to staff but which remained unchanged for the duration of our stay.

It was ok
The pros. It is about a 5-10 minute subway walk which was nice. I liked that there was a terrace where you can bring your own food and bottle of wine. The cons. The air felt really dry in the hotel. Some night I didn't get any sleep because I kept coughing (even with the window open). There seemed to be a lot of mosquitos in the hotel (even where we ate breakfast ).
