Finding Beach Agates

We loved the nearby access to Gleneden Beach. And we loved digging through the sand and gravel in search of agates (we ended up with 2 quart ziplock bags of agates of various size and color).

Great beach close by

The location is close to the ocean. There was room for all of us. The kitchen, dining, LR layout is perfect for a group of 8 and a baby.

Very nice

Concerns

Carpet needs cleaning throughout. Very sharpe trim on the upstairs master bath shower door. Husband sliced ankle on it getting out!!

A great Home away from home!

This is a wonderful property. The couch in the living room fit all 6 of us comfortably with our feet up on the ottoman, perfect for a family movie before bed. The open layout on the main floor made it easy to keep everyone together and meal times were great with plenty prep space and supplies in the kitchen. Our only suggestion would be a fan to move air around on those stuffy afternoons. The neighborhood is quiet and it's a short walk to the beach, the access is a steep but there's a more moderate entrance a block south. We enjoyed the deck and listening to the sound of the surf. The property manager was also very responsive, even after 6pm on a Sunday when we couldn't get the second key out of the lockbox, we were very impressed with their customer service.

It was a house

For the price this house was fine. But the picture showed chairs around the island, those were all broken and in the garage leaving us with 6 chairs for 8 people to eat meals. The chairs around the table were also falling apart. My husband had to tighten the screws on a few and on one the leg fell off while one of the kids was sitting in it. So we had to be very careful with how we sat in or moved them. Leaving us down to 5 chairs for 8 people. The beds made all our backs hurt and the ones downstairs make noise with any kind of movement. One of the futons upstairs we couldn't fold out for one of the kids so he slept on the couch. There was also nothing in the way of storing leftovers. No seranwrap, baggies, or containers. We bought some cheap ones and left them there. Another suggestion for the host would be to get some better cooking utensils. The ones there were extremely flimsy making it difficult to make anything. The communication between us and the mgt company was awful. In hallway when you walk in it say to contact this person at this number for things or if the garbage needs picked up on garbage day. Fine, we did. Then we're told to send a message thru the vrbo app. Ok.... no reply. For days... at one point a fire alarm was going off in the hallway that no one could reach at 4 in the morning waking up the whole house. Again my husband was able to take it down and remove the battery. By that point my son and myself were both sick so we decided to leave early. Id rather be stuck in my own way more comfortable bed then stuck in that room any longer than I had to. That was on Friday 12/30 sent a message thru app saying were leaving early (original departure was 1/1) this was after the alarm the same morning where we hadnt got much sleep. Also other messages about garbage pick up and the alarm going off prior Never heard anything from them on the app until Weds 1/4 about our check out. This is by far the worst trip we been on using this forum. There were some other things like shoddy electrical were we couldn't find switches to turn lights on or we couldn't get some of the light to turn off once we got them on. Or lights flickering in the stairwell. If we wanted downstairs to be warm we had to turn up the heat on the main floor and open windows so we didn't roast there before going to bed. I would not us this house again. You've been warned maybe the mgt company and host will fix some of the things. Use at own discretion

Great location + Party lights

Easy walk to the beach, though this spot did have sea fleas. The basics of the house are good offers wifi and some dvds. The lights have a rave mode that you cannot start, nor stop. Goes off randomly but not often. Interferance with the light switch durijg an episode seems to aggravate the light spirit or some and takes longer to turn off. Happened at like 2 am so maybe you can sleep thru it lol Hope they get the fridge fixed soon

Hard Beds, Broken Appliances

The house seemed great in pictures and fine when we checked in, but got worse as the weekend went on. The fridge was broken, and the backup in the garage was pretty small. The stove had a broken burner, and the lights didn't like to turn off. The dimmer switches would turn the lights off, then a few seconds later, they'd start flickering on and off. We never got them quite figured out, and it freaked out a couple of us. There's no A/C, and the house got pretty warm. The beds downstairs were VERY hard and VERY noisy, and those of us down there didn't sleep well between the back pain and the creaking every time we shifted. Finally, the big bed upstairs had a HUGE nasty stain on it that we only found when we stripped it on the way out. Very disturbing, and if we had caught it earlier, we probably would have left. This house used to be nice, but is now apparently a very low priority for maintenance and cleaning.

Generally the house, and the location, were fine. The house is fairly dated and there are multiple electrical issues that came up throughout the stay. An interior fridge that didn't work, lights that fluctuated on and off, multiple light switches that seem to have no function. Overall it met our needs but wasn't amazing.

The millers/walkers

Overall, the beds were comfy and the place was very spacious. Also, we were able to walk to the ocean and it being so close was nice. The area was nice and quiet. The neighbors were really friendly. We are considering coming back next year. The neighbor offered to take us fishing if we do and even gave us some smoked fish that he smoked himself. The kitchen was perfect to make meals in. The only thing that did not work was the fridge in the kitchen, but there is a fridge right in the garage which was only a few steps away from the kitchen and a mini fridge upstairs so we really have no complaints. We really enjoyed our stay.

Family Beach Trip approved

I was a little nervous based on some of the other reviews, but this house fit our bedroom count and budget and I'm glad we went with it. This house does need some TLC and a few new appliances - the primary fridge was broken (they had a mini fridge and slightly larger than mini fridge in the garage as "backup") and the dishwasher was barely holding on. The kitchen isn't amazingly stocked, but had all the standard items and a few that can be rare - like pizza cutter and cheese grater. The blender was broken, but we didn't need it. There is definitely a lack of glasses and the coffee mugs are pretty small, but overall, kitchen had what we needed. The rest of the house, the king bed was good, and there were extra blankets in each room. Some of the curtains had broken strings so they couldn't be opened which was frustrating. The wifi was poor, but it seems average for the coast. The queen beds were older and a bit squeaky but worked for our family. The distance to the beach is nice, but the closest beach access is in poor shape (nothing the rental controls). The next door neighbor was super sweet and put some kids books in her little mini library for our family. There were kites and sand toys at the house which the kids loved. There were board games and some puzzles - with all the pieces there! Overall, i hope they replace the fridge and fix the curtains and provide the lacking items and it will be a good place to come back to in the future.

spacious 2025

Spring 2025. This house was very spacious for 5 people. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, within a short walk to the beach. The kitchen is big, with counter seating and a large dining table nearby. The inside fridge was not working, so we used the one in the garage. The kitchen utensils and pots were poor quality. One burner of the gas stove didn't work. If you love cooking, bring your own stuff. The 4 bedrooms are nice: a king, one daybed, and two full sized beds. 3 toilets, one stand up shower and a bathtub/shower. The furniture was comfy, with plenty of blankets. So nice to have a washer/dryer on hand.

What’s the point in leaving a review!!!

After reading all the previous reviews, I thought there’s no way that there’s all these bad reviews and nothing has been done to fix the issues. I was wrong. All of the negative things said in the reviews are still the same. Fridge doesn't get cold, bed in one of the downstairs rooms was horribly loud when there was any kind of movement, still only one bed in the room that is supposed to have 2, the lights have a mind of their own and so many switches that did nothing or are over complicated. It’s so close to being a nice place that it is sad that nobody will actually take the time to remedy the stupid little things that make it kinda suck. Needs interior paint or touch up at least. The worst part was the temperatures, cold downstairs, decent on main floor, but hot as hell upstairs. Good thing it never gets real hot at the beach or it would be unbearable. We were there for work so it was no big deal but I brought my family this weekend and that’s when all the details came in to play. I’ve rented enough houses from vacasa to know that they will apologize but won’t actually do anything about it. At least it’s close enough to the beach to not care about being in the house. Oh yeah and the bbq on back deck is disgusting. Was planning on a bbq for Father’s Day but that didn’t happen because the grill is literally unusable. Why bother asking for reviews when you are not going to fix the issues? The previous negative reviews go all the way back to 2023 so I don’t understand why none of the issues get fixed. Kind of annoying!!!

Great trip

This house fit our needs and was a place we would come back to. It was clean and had the room to spread out. The kitchen was great and easy to prep meals and cook in. Some of the light switches were tricky to figure out and the TV system had some issues (couldn’t adjust the volume or turn the TV off). Bedrooms were nice and quiet and the beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. Plenty of room and was in a quiet neighborhood.

House with great potential

There are a lot of great things about this house. Very spacious. Parking in garage. Easy walk to the beach. Note the closest beach access is a little challenging but there is another access a little further distance you can walk or drive too. But we did have some issues with the house. Maybe it was because it was at the end of the summer. We found the lock to get into the house a challenge. The dishwasher wasn't cleaning dishes so we ended up handwashing. There were no frames for the mattresses in the small upstairs bedroom, just futon/foam mattresses on the floor. Fortunately, we were going to use those for a child, but an adult would not appreciate being on the floor. The light switches were overly complicated. Not labeled. Unnecessary dimmer switches. We couldn't get them to turn on completely in one bedroom. Finally, the carpet needed a good shampooing. A little maintenance, and this would be a great house.

Just go camping

The location is the only thing we enjoyed. This house was dirty and obviously not maintained properly, dirty walls and windows, musty, moldy, broken down beds and furnishings and the refrigerator broke down half way through our stay, we'll never use Vacasa again!

Gleneden Beach

The house was pretty run down and tired. Several light fixtures didn't work. The downstairs left bedroom had lights that would not turn off, or up in brightness, and we had to turn off the fuse to let the person sleep in that room. The master bedroom lights were at least off but I couldn't turn them on... master bath lights over shower didn't work as well. Upper hallway lights wouldn't turn off. Luckily, with the nature of our trip there, we didn't have to spend much time at the house.

Travel for work.

Wonderful property. Quiet neighborhood. Close to the beach. Everything was easy. My only complaint is the freezer door pops open. All in all a 5 star stay.
