As noted in listing, linen isn't included. They work with a company you have to engage separately, and for us it increased cost by [a large percentage - Stayz apparently prevents me saying how much]. Clearly disclosed in listing, but so much more hassle and makes it harder to compare properties.
Their Terms and Conditions require you to do their "online check-in" process. This requires you to upload your licence and credit card into a non-secure platform. It stores images of documents rather than hashes, and it indicates that staff have access to the images. Otherwise you have to give them [a lot of money - again I'm not allowed by Stayz to say how much] and they tell you nothing about how they decide to give it back to you or not.
Those T&C weren't obvious prior to booking, but get highlighted clearly in an email that you get after you've committed to the property. There's a bunch of other stuff in there, like apparently they could cancel your listing if the owner decides to sell the property after you booked. Oh and if they are trying to sell you would have to let people come through for inspections!
The location is amazing, as good as you can get if you want to stay in Tugun, although Tugun is a quiet little place right next to the airport. We have family there so was perfect for us. Right next to the beach, the Surf Club, and other shops etc.
Bedrooms were very small. We got them to set up portacots in the two biggest rooms for us, and when we arrived we couldn't close the door of one of the bedrooms with the spot they set up the portacot. In the end there was no place you could fit the cot and the other furniture all in the room so that the door could close. Had to move all furniture other than the bed and cot into the living room.
Firstly - we booked this property because there weren't many options available, and normally we would have booked something a bit more modern/with a bit more creature comfort. As such, our rating somewhat reflects the fact that we didn't pick a property well suited to us.
Secondly - that T&C stuff impacts our rating but you might not care, and it's not technically an issue with the property but with the management of it. I must say, by the way, everyone at Goldcoast Holiday Homes (the Manager) was courteous and amazing to deal with, and they helped us organise late check-out (because the standard requirement is that you be out by 9:30AM - ouch!)
