First thing first the hotel is in amazing area central location. BUT the rooms are very outdated, small, poorly maintained. The staff is kind and welcoming. Breakfast is ok. ( lots of options around the hotel very cheap food). And most important!!!!!! We booked the hotel a head of time and planned to stay for 5 nights. Reservation was approved by property. After 2 nights at the hotel we were notified by the staff that we have to leave the day after because it’s holiday and they are all leaving home the hotel will be closed for 4 days!!!!!!

Very disappointed. As a Platinum member, Expedia said the hotel should have given us free upgrade when rooms are available, especially when the pricing on the booked rooms and the upgraded rooms are the same ($50). We did not received it upon check-in request, nor the Welcome Drinks (both times as we had booked couple days earlier). No bell/door service to help with luggage. Coffee was served room temperature. Rooftop bar was nonexistent. Definitely not you 4 stars hotels. Expedia needs to reclassify them. Everything seems old. Breakfast was below average compared to other hotels.

NOT a 4 stars hotel, more like a 2 stars. We have been traveling in Vietnam for 2 months so we have stayed in lots of hotels. No Welcome drinks, No Bell/Door service for help with luggage from street ornto room. Small family operation which we often love to support. No table service. Breakfast so-so. No free upgrades for Platinum members on Expedia upon request at check-in--there were two Junior Suites (for same price) but they did trade us up. :-(

We recently stayed at Matilda boutique and what can I say besides OMG. Hang was a lovely manager. She took care of us from check in to check out. The room was exquisite and by all means comfortable. The water was warm and the sheets were clean. The hotel was in such a convenient location that it was just a short stroll to everything we required. The breakfast had an assortment of options all deliciously crafted by their in-house chef. I would without question recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Hanoi.

Nice hotel in great location
The hotel is in a great location to explore the old quarter. It is clean and well presented, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast options were good and could do made-to-order. The room was quite small (a classic double) and I had actually tried to update with hotels.com before arriving but it had not updated in the hotels’s system and they did not have availability to upgrade which was a shame. However it did not impact our stay that much, and I would recommend as great value for money for a short stay in Hanoi.

Pretty hotel and room. Clean. Comfortable bed. Good central location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Quiet at most times but a little noisy on weekend nights up to about 10:30 (my room was towards the street; those directly on the street would be even noisier I assume). Good breakfast. A big plus was the staff, who spoke good English and were very helpful. In particular Hang helped me with a problem I was having communicating with my bank in the US and with other questions I had during my stay.

Comfy and convenient hotel for exploring olquarter
Can't beat the location for exploring the old quarter everything is within 5 minutes walk, staff very friendly only thing I noticed is the roof top bar is no longer open however you can still take your own drinks and chill sunbathe up there and the doors to the rooms weren't very soundproof i would recommend using ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Beds and pillows extremely comfy I slept very well
