A great family place to stay, great rooms for us all. We all enjoyed the novelty of the castle and the tour. The breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds. All in all a great family place to stay.

Langley Castle was truly a unique experience. Our room was lovely and the sitting area within the room a delight. However, the mattress was too soft for both our tastes. My wife is much less particular than I but even she had a problem with it. On the other hand, we loved the dining experience and the ambience was great.

Quite a memorable place to arrive at! Enjoyed reading about its history - interesting insights into the hazards of border life and political dabbling in medieval times. As an art dealer, the pastiche historical paintings left a great deal to be desired (happy to help improve them!!), but otherwise very much enjoyed our stay

Langley Castle August 2023
Check in was quick and our room was not in castle but a shirt walk down path. Room on first floor was comfortable with a large bathroom and separate stinting area we also had access to outside from doors in sitting area. Property does have 3 chargers for EV cars - two were in use and unfortunately the free one did not work we did ask at repetition and told they would reset but this didn’t happen. Evening meal booked for 6.30pm we went to lounge upstairs to order pre dinner drink but had to wait well over 30 minutes to order food. When our table was ready we were taken to it by a very friendly lady ( unfortunately we were seated in what seemed like a conservatory and not main dining area no atmosphere as only two other tables in there). Meal was good. Breakfast next morning in dining room - good choice. Husband joined the talk about the castle and brief history. Overall a pleasant experience.

Disappointing. We had to move rooms because of issues housekeeping would have definitely known about but chose to ignore. There was a wedding which impacted our breakfast experience despite being asked what time we want to book breakfast for. On the positive side food was ok & the inclusive tour of the castle was informative. The actual owners were stopping at the hotel si you would expect everything would have been perfect alas not the case.

Enjoyable stay. Evening meal good but breakfast a little disappointing. On first morning given a small cup of granola between two people- on second day given one each! Also asked for banana which was not available.

SOLID 4 STAR THAT COULD BE A 5 STAR
WE HAVE STAYED AT 21 CASTLES - ESTATES IN THE UK OVER THE LAST 5 YRS AND ALWAYS STAY AT 5 STAR LOCATIONS IF POSSIBLE. OVERALL, THIS IS A VERY SOLID 4 HOTEL -- NOT THE FULL SERVICE YOU WOULD GET AT 5 STAR ---- YOU HAVE TO LUG ALL YOUR LUGGAGE UP MASSIVE STAIRS TO YOUR ROOM --- THERE IS NO AC SO YOU GOTTA COMPLAIN SO THEY WILL GIVE YOU A FAN OR 2 --- THE 5 STAR CASTLES HAVE PORTABLE -FAN/AC UNITS WHICH WORK GREAT .... THIS PLACE DOES NOT--- THIS PLACE COULD BE A 5 STAR IF IT WAS UPDATED WITH MORE GRAND FURNISHINGS AND OTHER THINGS LIKE NICE ROBES - NICER TOWELS

Lovely idiosyncratic luxury hotel
We stopped here for a couple of nights visiting Hadrian’s Wall. Our room was in one of the outbuildings but was very comfortable, complete with peacocks looking in at the window! The staff were friendly and charming, especially the lady who guided us on the rooftop tour which the castle offers.

We stayed in what were the former stables due to a larger family. That said, nice accommodations throughout, well appointed. Foodservice was a bit slow but meals were enjoyable and food itself was excellent. If you are taking trains, make sure you have taxi/service to/from scheduled up.
