I stayed with my wife and 1-year-old two nights as we were in Johor house-hunting and there was a special offer via AirAsia/Expedia.
TV reception was very poor and the temperature controller on the fridge was broken. On the 2nd evening, the desk lights and side room light stopped working. After a long day house-hunting, I reported this to the Front Desk when we returned at 8.30pm and they casually said they would send someone as soon as possible. When I asked when abouts, they claimed the maintenance person was probably already on their way. He showed up 30 minutes later and spent 15 minutes trouble-shooting then went off without saying anything but left the ladder in the room. Another 30 minutes later, as we were trying to put our daughter to bed, the Front Desk called and instructed us to change rooms. My wife was very upset by being told rather than asked and so we said this was unacceptable. Another 30 minutes later, the maintenance person returned and changed 2 lightbulbs in under 10 minutes. As it was now after 10pm, I told him not to worry about the other things as we wanted put our daughter to bed and get some rest as we had another long busy day ahead. The maintenance person was polite and respectful.
On checking out the next morning, I spoke to the duty manager who was apologetic and said they would take action to make sure this didn't happen again. He sent an email repeating this but no compensation was offered whatsoever. Not impressed.
