跟中国的五星级酒店那是一定没有可比性,在加尔各答应该算条件不错的酒店,只是每天只有一小时免费wifi,使用酒店的付费wifi非常昂贵。酒店外观没有照片那么漂亮,外部环境也不好。

在此酒店住了4晚, 至目前為此,此酒店是我曾入住的酒店中,服務最佳的,甚至比其他大城市的五星酒店更好. 1. 入住翌日為本人的生日,當晚兩位酒店職員主動送了1個生日蛋糕上房,並為我慶祝,服務十分貼心 2. 酒店是一個有100多年歷史的古跡,旅遊書說她是印度第一間酒店,不少名人,包括英女皇也曾入住,酒店地方十分廣大及佈置有英國殖民地風格,我們在酒店內周圍拍照時迷了路,竟然有工作人員突然出現,並能稱呼我的姓名,知我住哪間房間,指引我回房的道路,簡直服務周到. 3. 每次離開房間, 再次回房時, 酒店的職員都會補回房內的飲用水, 簡直奇妙, 在溫度達40度的印度, 水是很重要的! 4. 惟美中不足, 是酒店離購物區(New Market)較遠, 每次到購物區皆要行一段路程(約旺角朗豪坊至花墟距離).

酒店坐落在殖民时期的建筑内,建筑非常美。位置在加尔各答市中心,交通很方便,很适合步行前往周边的景点。酒店服务极为周到热情,房间很大很舒服,酒店附设的餐厅服务很好,早餐选择非常丰富。特别感谢酒店的礼宾,给我们提供了很好的参观路线建议和市内餐厅建议。性价比极高,值得推荐!

Very decent stay, with exceptionally nice staff
I had a wonderful stay in this hotel. While I was sick, the front desk staff (Chandrani?? forgot her name) asked me for a few times about my condition and offered me some honey and ginger tea because of my cold. The room service staff also offered plenty of water and emptied my already full trash bin once they receive such a request. The room is very very decent and reaches its 5-star quality as said. The breakfast, though with limited main dish choices, was clean and well presented. Almost every staff in the hotel was very nice and helpful and I can't name any incident that I was unhappy with anyone, as in other Indian hotels. The hotel is not closest from the metro but you can get a taxi easily. There is also a very nice restaurant on its street and several ATM machines nearby. Wished I was physically fine enough to try its SPA! Would be happy to see if they can share the quotes of Mark Twain or Rudyard Kipling how they commented this hotel. (or even photos of HM QE II or Gandhi) and that would make the stay with this hotel even more historical. Should have offered to ask if the guest wants a heater as well, as the A/C doesn't include a heating function (I forgot to ask as well).

This is a very beautiful historical property. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was on top of making sure the room was clean along with water, tea, and coffee stocked daily. Bicky is amazing at taking care of the room and makes sure everything is perfect when he cleans the room. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again for future visits to Kolkata.

The front desk staff were terrible. Three to four female staff members at the front checkin desk were either clueless or not willing to help. The restaurant staff were very polite and friendly and the room cleaning lady was excellent. She was very friendly and always had a big smile.

A very stylish, modern hotel in a very good location. Though noisy early evening, it quieted down around 9pm which ensured a good night’s sleep. Friendly helpful staff though was a bit hectic checking in as everyone was looking to check in and out at the same time. As this is a luxury hotel I would have expected a cold drink on arrival whilst waiting (developed world problems I know, but this is down as a luxury hotel). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We arrived half an hour after check in time and were told our rooms weren’t ready. We asked to wait somewhere we could get lunch and were taken out onto the street to a cake shop/bar/restaurant. Service there was very slow and my food was cold when it arrived. Not a great start to our stay in LaLit. However we got upgraded rooms to compensate. Rooms were very spacious and beautiful though the safe didn’t work and the bath water was brown. Also I only got one towel. Food in the restaurant was very good.

Being a heritage hotel I liked the style of the rooms and size. Towels were stained and not white as they should be. Breakfast staff not trained to serve tea etc properly and don’t speak English. Front office staff were good and could communicate with international guests. Food selection good. Hotel overpriced for what they offer.

I recently stayed at your hotel and I was disappointed with the level of service I received. In particular,the breakfast was awful and also there was no simple teabag in the room and the refrigerator was not working, which impacted my overall experience. Clean and courteous, convenient hotel.
A quiet hotel which was clean and central. I stayed at the back of the hotel so had no view but had no city noise too. Breakfast was good but not enough vegan food. Staff courteous and they even wore Pride badges in January, which was a wonderful initiative by the hotel. They had a pride flag in the front of the hotel. Thank you.

The property is closer to some of the attractions. As there is a renovation going on, its dusty and sometimes noisy. I wouldnt want to visit this property till the reno is completed.

The check-in experience for someone who is used to excellent customer service in US, was just mediocre. We checked in pretty late around 11 pm. The gentleman who helped us did not put any extra effort to make us feel welcome. No offers of water whatsoever. He insisted on putting a credit card on file, repeatedly, even when I mentioned that it was late and we would like to go to my room after a very long flight. The staff at the restaurants, janitorial staff, porters etc. are very nice. I loved interacting with them. The breakfast and the in room dining were good and we really enjoyed the variety of food. The staff at the reception completely ignored us and any requests we made. Toilet paper arrived in 2 hours, after three calls to the reception. However, the worst part of the stay was that two nights before we are scheduled to check-out, we receive a call at 10 pm from Mr. Faisal at the reception asking for feedback on the stay. That was really in very bad taste. I requested to speak to the manager the following morning but that did not materialize. I am disappointed that such a pricey place could not exhibit basic decency in dealing with their guests. This has most certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. I travel via Kolkata very often due to work, but will not be returning here.

Ce n’est pas un 5 étoiles, les chambres sont belles et spacieuses, c’est tout Le personnel de l’accueil est désagréable Le spa est cher et nul Nous n’avons pas pu dormir pendant 3 nuits car une fête était organisée dans l’hôtel avec une musique qui faisait trembler l’immeuble jusqu’au 5 ème étage où nous étions jusqu’à la fin de la nuit. Generally very good indeed
All generally very good. I guess it should be at the price - probably 2x or 3x a mid-range hotel in Kolkata - but still excellent value for this level of comfort and service + Wi-fi, room and bathroom very good, staff accommodating of odd requests - Food a bit over-priced

Fabulous hotel and staff. The breakfast choices and quality were superb. Good location, about 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station ( Kolkata traffic is a nightmare).

Great Eastern is great - makes you feel that too
It is, like its names tells, a great hotel, one of Indias oldest. The rooms - bathrooms, has a great size, the hower 'room', was great marble floor with black stones and rainy water coming out. Large Tv with international news, among them my favourite ( I am not a religious person - coming from Denmark), Al jazzera in English - for years I have thought it is the the most - if any - objective News station. The Breakfast Buffet is huge - I wish the western bread was more frersh though. Staff overall is perfect - very serviceminded in a real pleasant way - no Baksheesh eyes. Maybe to many Namaste, when you walk out from the elevator, I like to be a guest - not 'god'-like.
