eriors were pleasing to the eye and exuded tranquility. Luba and Marina, at the front desk as well as housekeeping staff were friendly and cordial. I can not attest whether anyone had any command of English as I spoke Russian. The hotel is tucked in between residential buildings and away from busy Stavropolskaya str. and thus, guests are spared excessive street noise. At the same time, proximity to the street allows easy access to a supermarker, a bank and many transportation routes, all within walking distance. My stay included breakfast with many wonderful options. Ella, of the morning staff, could be seen behind the counter daily, lovingly frying eggs or sausage, cutting vegetables, making oatmeal and arranging items on plates. Her presence and motherly hovering over the kitchen gave the place a-home-away-from-home feel. The dining area she presided over was well groomed. My room and bedsheets were sparkly clean so was the bathroom. Room service was offered daily. The furniture showed no signs of wear. On the down side, the shower cabin lacked shelves for soap and shampoo as well as hooks to hang sponge or loofa. Also, the fixture that.held showere head was broke. Lastly, I could hear my neighbors' conversations accross the walls, so consider yourself warned 😉 Despite these concerns, I was glad to have selected Genoff for my stay.
