Great place and location

We appreciated our stay. When we arrived, the place was not cleaned due to a misunderstanding. We contacted the host, we had and answer within minutes and it was fixed within hours while we were out exploring the city, which was great. The place is small (size of an hotel room) but very conviennent with the washer/dryer. The mattress was ok. The location is simply amazing! Near 2 underground stations and Hyde park. There are great restaurants right downstairs and in the area. The key was located close by and it was very simple to retrieve with the instructions. Would stay again, but I would suggest 3 minor improvements : a foam/padding on the mattress, extra pillows and more toilet paper (we had 2 rolls for 2 people for 8 days).

Awesome! Exactly what we needed.

Super easy and the perfect spot to have while you run around the city. Prime location and walking distance from a ton of food and drink options. My girlfriend and I had the best time here.

Great London Location

This apartment was located quite close to the Underground and near Kensington Gardens. Though quite small, it had what travelers need when away from home, washer/dryer, small fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Like most European apartments it didn’t have air conditioning and the sun shines directly on the one large window, but a fan provided aids if weather heats up. The shower was very small for my husband but worked for me. It is one of the few apartments for rent that has an elevator and that is a plus. In addition, the Italian restaurant next door has great food as does the laundromat/breakfast spot across the street. There are many small markets around to get items. Getting the key was a bit challenging as the fence with the lock box is by the road away directly behind the address given. The poor girl who lived at the address had no idea what we were looking for, but once found all was good. Thank you for sharing this well located apartment with us.

Convenient and cozy, excellent communication

This place was perfectly located for walking or catching the underground to anywhere you need to go. The space is small but well arranged and tidy and it’s near so much it’s not like we were there for long outside of sleeping and showering. I left a jacket behind in the wardrobe and the host was kind enough to arrange to have it held at a cute little Italian place downstairs for me to retrieve it. All around an excellent stay.

Great central London location

This flat is just about as presented. It’s very clean, very well located. It’s an easy walk to both Paddington and Lancaster Gate stations, and to Hyde Park. Safe neighborhood with lots of shops, restaurants, etc. it is very small. Fine for us as we just basically slept there. Blurb says washer and dryer, but dryer does not work. Picking up and dropping key is a little weird, but we made it work. Host communication great. Overall we had a great stay!

Disappointed

The property location was great. The instructions for collecting the key I felt were quite complicated as we had just arrived by train from Heathrow, having travelled from Australia. We also we dragging luggage around. On arriving at the unit we noticed straight away it didn’t look quite like the photos. The wardrobe had a broken drawer, the cupboard doors didn’t close properly, the clothes rack was rusty and broken, the floor in the bathroom was not clean, the shower stall was mouldy in parts, an old filthy mop was behind the bathroom door, the bottom sheet of the bed did not fit, there were no extra pillows, blanket or other linen, and a dirty chair/cushion was placed in a corner. Overall the place felt unclean as the kitchen area also still had crumbs around the toaster and other items on the bench and the general floor area had ‘bits’ of dirt/material. The washing machine leaked badly, which we reported to the property manager, and got no reply. I would say this was not the first time as there was what appeared to be black mould underneath. Also the property manager didn’t contact us until mid morning of the day we were leaving the property. Unfortunately we had already left when she contacted us so we could not return the key. We had left it in the unit. This was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had with accommodation.

lots of pros and cons! the location is ideal for easy access to lots of tube lines and also to the park! the lockbox location/ process was simple at first, but one of the keys was missing, which created some friction at check-in. luckily, we arrived early in the day, and Volha was super responsive and quick to fix the issue. the flat itself was standard, with basic furnishings/ sheets/ towels and a huge window for lots of light. we came here in the middle of a several week euro-trip and really appreciated the washer/dryer, but were frustrated when we realized (later on after all the stores had closed) that no soap/shampoo/ shower gel was provided. this would have been nice to explicitly mention, as the other places we stayed at had these basics. we were given 1.5 rolls of toilet paper, which was not sufficient for our stay, and we had to purchase extra. the kettle was very dirty and not appealing to use as well. overall, great area, reasonable stay once we got shower supplies and toilet paper, and easy communication with the host. 3.5 stars.

Lovely studio, with all necessary amenities. Well equipped kitchenette, with eating bar. Very comfortable bed and armchair. Great heater and cooling fan! Big washing machine with drying options! The location is outstanding; bus, metro and train access, the Mitre pub and many cafes/restaurants options, easy walk to grocery and retail shops. Key lockbox was a short walk away (excellent easy instructions with photos) and Volha was always "just a click away". We had a wonderful time!

Great stay, excellent location

We had a lovely stay, it was perfect size for my Fiancé and myself. Easy check in process and was able to get an early check in due to flight landing early (many thanks!). Great location and short walk to 2 underground stations. We would definitely recommend!

Ideal location for a weekend in London

Used the flat as a base for a weekend in London. Very close to Paddington Station, Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate Underground. Many restaurants on the street. I’d stay here again

An uncomfortable closet with no concern for guests comfort

The check in was inconvenient with keys hidden in a remote location. I had difficulty opening the picture sent and tried to call host. No response. Finally figured out lock box location but had to carry bags for blocks to the room. Bed was the most uncomfortable possible and still be a “ bed” scratchy sheets and almost like sleeping on the floor. Dirty windows looking at dirty roofs, an almost useless “ kitchen” where you have to sit on the floor to work the microwave, and crawl under a built in table to reach the washing machine. The shower floods the bathroom floor, and the toilet is shoe horned into a corner that you can’t get up from once seated. The check out adds insult to injury.. do not stay here

Great location.

Great stay

The location was perfect since it is just down the street from Paddington Rail and Underground station. Good restaurants nearby and the flat was very nice. We were there during the record high London temperatures so it was quite warm for sleeping at night without A/C, but generally that would be the case in London so I can’t hold that against the location. The owner was very attentive to our questions. Nice place.

Great location, but place needs upgrading

If you read Sherry B's review, it is spot on. The location is perfect as its is a few minutes from Lancaster Gate station and easy walking to Paddington Station. It is also only a few minutes from Lancaster bus stop. We had no problem finding the lockbox where the keys were for the flat. Very easy self-check in. We were disappointed to find only ½ roll of toilet paper, so we had to go shopping on our first day. Fortunately, there are small shops a couple blocks away. We used the washer dryer combo, so that was very convenient and laundry capsules were supplied (although we thought it would be in cupboard nearby, but found them in the bathroom). For those people who don't want to deal with that, there is a laundry service literally across the street. We found out though that using the dryer really heats the place up. The place needs a booklet of instructions. We could not figure out how to turn on the lights on the wall or the lamp on the nightstand. We also had to ask host for wifi password. One window didn't open so the place was stifling most of the time. When we requested a fan, we were told , no fan. How much would it have cost to have had some basic amenities, such as toilet paper, fan, bath soap, wastebasket? We did not cook so I cannot attest to kitchenware or stove, although when I sat on the cracked plastic stool for the first time, it broke, and I fell on the floor. The flat needs a wastebasket. There is none, so we ended up putting our trash in our own bag. The place needs blackout curtains. However, if you close the curtains, you have even less air flow. Positive comments: Place was clean, sheets and towels were supplied. The place is private - so we kept window and curtains open at night. Elevator is great, especially after a day of walking and exploring. Note: push button 2 to get to the flat. If you are looking for a place that is convenient in terms of location near Paddington Station, this is it. Perfect location. However, we were left wondering when was the last time the owner spent any money fixing and maintaining the place.

Great Location

The location of this flat is about two blocks from Hyde Park, perfect for enjoying it everyday. Check-in was a mess. Owner forgot the day I was checking in and the key wasn't in the lockbox. She's not easy to reach because she's very remote and no London phone number. I waited outside on the stoop, hoping she would check the VRBO SITE SOON. Unfortunately, it took awhile and I was very concerned. When I finally got into the flat it was clean but beat up and a large number of broken and unusable items that were promised. Disappointing for sure. All of the reading lights don't work including one switch that was broken. All the pots and pans were unusable because the coatings were powdery and chipped. ( you shouldn't eat that stuff) The mattress isn't memory foam but an old box spring. Scrapped and cracked walls, including a broken stool. Not generous with soaps or toilet paper. I had to buy them. However, the towels were very good. But, the most important thing that was very hard to live with was the fact that everything including the blinds was white. When the sun came up, it was blinding in the room because their was only thin white blinds and no black out curtains. The sun came up at 4:30! That's not a vacation by any stretch of the imagination. This flat needs some love and repair work done to it.
