Some things I like: The buffet breakfast. Help from Nino, manager of the buffet. Wonderful ambiance inside and out. Can be improved: - The laundry number does not ring/ have to call house keeping - The room was noisy due to construction. - I asked for a room without the air conditioner on and got a room with full blast air conditioning set to max. - The laundry said "done in 8 hours" and was not ready the next morning 10 hours later but was very expensive.

The property and staff was great. I would say my only complaint was the property tend to get very busy and crowded due to the many events and functions happening inside the property. At times made it difficult to relax, especially when the loud music would go on from the functions.

Historic property, good pool and gym. Very popular breakfast buffet. Very near the old fort and other tourist spots…but this is a developing country with all the poverty that comes with it. The hotel is super safe, but a large number of homeless in the surrounding area.

I make it a point to stay at the Manila Hotel every time I visit the Philippines (usually a couple of times a year) because I’m always treated like a member of the family. The staff is always friendly and hospitable, which is not the case with many of the other hotels I’ve stayed at. I highly recommend The Manila Hotel to all my friends and acquaintances visiting the Philippines!

I really like the views from the 14th floor. Staff was nice and attended well to our needs. Unfortunately, some of the electric outlets were not functioning properly. Carpet, especially inside the rooms, also needs replacement. Room to room calling was also somehow problematic— one had to dial the operator first to get connected to another room to make a call. Breakfast was great! A lot of selections. The one thing why this hotel is special? It is the history that is attached to it and is situated in a historical place. That’s irreplaceable. Overall experience? I will come back, no doubt — as long as the price remains reasonable. Perhaps all the electrical outlets would have been repaired and old carpets replaced by then.

I read so many reviews . My Mom and I were traveling back from a surgical mission in Borongan , we are from America, we stayed at the Manila Hotel on the way back and it was amazing, so beautiful the staff were ALL very kind and helpful. This hotel is historical so there is a lot of traffic and it was very busy but it didn’t distract us at all , the hotel itself is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is very nice, room service was great! The rooms were nice and big and the beds were very comfortable. If I had any complaints at all it would be that the gym was under renovation but other than that it was definitely a great choice. I would recommend it to anyone!

My family used to come and stay for a nite or two or even just for a quick relaxation savoring our native food like “puto bumbong and bibingka”. Being away for 18 yrs I decided to have my one night stay-cation before I head back to New York. The staff were all helpful showing the Filipino hospitality which I never experienced elsewhere. My two main disappointments during my stay was (1) there were no enough place to sit at the lobby coz most my homies stayed and hang out at a longer time even though they were done dining. It was a big shame! The ambiance of the Historically well knowned Manila Hotel was tainted. (2) lastly, I know most guest do not stay long at the rooms. But at least before one retire to bed to call it a night, one turn on the TV to listen to news or if guest have kids or even adults would like to Watch Netflix or any channel. BUT… what the hotel offered were extremely old! That’s why when I contacted the receptionist at the lobby… I called those TV set as “dumb” coz it’s so cheap to update with a smart TV.
