Nice amenities at Tops'l

We enjoyed all the amenities available at Tops'l. The pools, hot tub, and gym were great. My husband was able to play tennis several times with a nice group of guys. Access to the beach was also good. Our only complaint was that our room could connect to another suite and sound from that other apartment easily traveled under door. There was quite a space.

The condo was amazing! The only negative part was that it said "near to the beach" it was not near, but at the other end of the resort. The beach was within walking distance if you like to walk but it was defantily a walk!

We had a wonderful time there. We stayed in the Tennis Villa. Very impressed with amenities and spacious rooms. Everything was great, except we had some cockroaches getting in from outside. I figured it’s something that isn’t avoidable in a tropical area. The management was nice and helpful. They quickly took care of the roach issue. I’m definitely impressed with this property and would come back.

The summit room should change its carpet. The carpet condition was not good. But amazing location and swimming pool. We had a great family vacation.

We didn't stay at the site where the picture is taken, it's rather a 2 minutes ride to this property. It's not bad but the picture on the ad is misleading.

Overall good stay. Spacious and clean. Since they knew we were coming in very late after dark, it would have been nice to leave the stairwell light on so we could find villa 5 better. Beware of destin traffic, especially when it rains

the room was dilapidated and very aged;the shower had no door so water went all over the bathroom when it was used;in the middle of the night the next door resident came into my room from the internal door--he had a knob on his side of the door and evidently felt my room was part of his rental;there was no way to secure this door on my side;the communications with the rental staff was very poor;all together a rip off;

Disappointed

The room was very disappointing!!! No view at all. A long walk to the beach and I’m disabled so I only made one trip. The motel was full of drunk Mexicans who relieved themself in front of us while we were setting outside. The fire alarm in our room went off all night long the 1st night and the closet doors was off the hinges when we got there. Reported it and they were still off when we left. No coffee cups, no silverware, 4 towels to do two people for 4 days. No ice trays and no ice machines. At 200.00 a night, I expected a lot better especially after I called front desk asking for coffee cups and to fix closet doors and smoke alarms. Just very disappointed in it all.

Just Okay for a Weekend Getaway

Overall, the location was nice, but the the check in process was not very clear. Hotels.com did not provide accurate check-in times, nor the required information for looking up our reservation upon checkin assistance once on site. The resort area was nice, but not many on site amenities, and not not all that close to attractions. Our room was clean, but it was adjacent to another room with an adjoining door that was not well insulated. We could hear everything next door. If you're not staying in a unit with a kitchen, and do plan on buying groceries and remaining on site during the duration of your stay--this place would be great. If you're planning to be out and about, look for a place more central to Destin.

Need more information up front about whether the laundry is replenished daily or the guests' responsibility to bring their own. We had to go buy our own towels and cloths which was a big expenditure on our trip we didn't prepare for.

Outside of the room, the property was immaculate, clean, perfect. Our room was supposed to have a sofa bed, two twin beds, and a king. Instead it had 2 sets of bunk beds, a king bed and a regular couch. One of the ladders to the bunk beds was unstable. By unstable I mean one side that attaches the ladder to the bunk bed was bent and not even screwed in. The king bed had a foam topper which was uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night all week. Two of the bar stools were broken, one leg was broken on one, the supporting bar was broken on the other. There was cereal under the coffee table in the living room and it looked like something got spilled on the side of that same table and was never cleaned off. The paint was peeling off one of the drawers in the kitchen. For me the worst part was the master bathroom. There was hair in the Jacuzzi, which we didn't use. The shower had a corner stool in it which was dirty and, I think, the reason the shower stunk so bad. The shower floor was slippery like it hadn't been cleaned in a long, long time. If this wasn't bad enough while I was brushing my teeth one morning I noticed a molar sitting on the corner by the mirror! This is our second time staying at Tops'l, the first time we stayed at the summit with no issues. This time we stayed at the Tides in a bigger condo, room 511. On the positive side the location is great, the washer dryer was a huge plus with a family of 5.

We had reserved a 2 bedroom condo that stated it was 300 ft from the beach. We arrived and the condo was very run down & was at least 1/2 mile to the beach. We contacted the mgmt. and they moved us to a unit closer to the beach. It was in the summit. It was updated very nicely and in the proximity the beach we were hoping for. The only downside was each unit has a connecting door and you can hear everything. It's like you have someone in the room with you. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying in the summit.

Very good experience overall.

The condo was well furnished but the carpet needs to be replaced upstairs. We enjoyed our stay and was impressed with the fitness area but it was being remodeled while we were there. We did manage to make up for some of it by walking the 1/2 mile to the beach. We did take advantage of the shuttle for a ride back. The pools seemed very nice even though we didn't use. Personnel and even the neighbors were very nice. I would certainly consider going back.

Very good experience overall

Had a very good experience here overall. The resort is in a great location, and we enjoyed having access to the beach and a pool while still being close to restaurants and shopping. It was a little bit difficult to get help with facilities and housekeeping during our stay over the New Year holiday. We made multiple requests for extra towels and reported a light outage in our bathroom, but we never had anyone come by to address any of those requests. Still had a great time, though, and would recommend to anyone who wants to visit the area.
