We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Residence Inn Midtown East in April 2024. I traveled with my wife as well as my 11 year-old son and 74 year-old mother. We had a double room with was spacious enough for all of us. We were very pleased with the kitchenette with full refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and dishwasher. It was also equipped with a stovetop hob and cooking utensils, which we did not use.
The staff at the hotel was fantastic. Everyone from the front desk team, breakfast and kitchen staff, housekeeping and bellhops, was exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
The quality and variety of the daily breakfast buffet were superb. We also made use of the guest laundry in the basement, which was very convenient.
The location in Midtown Manhattan is very close to Grand Central Station, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Center. We used the subway and Uber to get around and there are several stations on Lexington Avenue to easily access the trains from the hotel. There is a supermarket one block east on the corner of Second Avenue and 48th Street, where we purchased fresh fruit and bread to keep in the room. The hotel is also close to many restaurants for lunch and dinner.
I would definitely stay at this property again on my next visit to New York and have no hesitation on recommending to anyone.
