Perfect stay for grandma and 12 year old granddaughter. Adequately stocked kitchen so we could eat breakfast and dinner in. Plenty of privacy without being "creepy" secluded. Good wifi. Didn't use the TV or hot tub. Comfy mattresses.
The cabin was great. Everything was clean and ready to go. I would definitely stay again and recommend this property. It was a nice and relaxing getaway with hiking close by.
It was our first time staying in RRG and it was a great experience! Beautiful cabin with an amazing hot tub and pretty view. We would definitely stay again at this cabin!
Dear Management,My dad and I are staying at Hiker's Retreat. Breathtaking Experience, Very fair price for the accommodations. And thank you for squeezing us in a day early.
We had a great time staying at Hiker’s Retreat! This was our first time at Red River Gorge and the cabin was just perfect for us! It was very clean inside. We enjoyed the hot tub too! I would highly recommend staying here. Perfect for a small family.
Our stay was peaceful and it’s was quiet. We enjoyed the national bridge and hiking trails, also the underground Gorge Underground clear kayak tour. We enjoyed our stay at the Hiker’s Retreat.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The deck is wonderful and spent most of our time there. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. Top shelf in the refrigerator was loose but not a big deal. Hopefully we can return one day.
My husband and I had a great weekend away in Hikers Retreat! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was also a great asset to the cabin. The pictures were an accurate representation of the cabin. Would recommend this rental to my friends and family!
The cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway in the Red River Gorge! The hot tub was a nice end to a great day of hiking the many trails nearby. The cabin is just down the road from Miguel’s Pizza, which you can order online for pickup. Overall a great place to chill and relax for a small group or couple.
Property was the perfect place for our weekend hiking trip. Having a hot tub to come back to after a long day of hiking was awesome. My daughter found two perfect trees to hang her hammock to enjoy the fire pit and smores. We would definitely come back to hikers retreat!
We loved this little cabin in the woods! It was clean and cozy. The hot tub was a big hit with our kids especially. If we come again, I would bring some of my own cooking utensils (like a basic spatula). Overall excellent experience and would recommend visiting.
Minor issues with hot tub which was taken care of quickly. Nice cabin. Shower could use a better shower head. Beds were decent. Road up to cabin had a lot of large crevices which could be a challenge for less experienced drivers or if you only have a 2 wheel drive. Overall, would stay again!
Well maintained cabin within close driving distance of all the hiking trails we wanted to do. The cabin’s location is more secluded and quiet than a lot of other cabin rentals in the area which was nice. Had a problem with the hot tub but the management company responded immediately and had it fixed in a few hours.
Wished we could have stayed longer and definitely plan to come back to the same cabin if we can. We were fortunate to have such warm weather while there so we spent most of our time outside but we believe the cabin would be quite charming in the winter months, especially for a couple.
Once you learn your way around a little you will discover the location is convenient to the east side of the park up through Pine Ridge and also convenient to all the eating places and the state park down route 11.
The cabin was exactly as described and shown in photos. A lovely, very clean, private place surrounded by trees. We especially enjoyed sitting on the large porch in the evenings at sunset, enjoying the quiet.
A low-to-the-ground vehicle might have some difficulty in the final gravel road portion (for us there were numerous rain-filled potholes and deep ruts the last short but steeper section - navigable going slowly in a RAV4 hybrid).
Would absolutely stay here again!! Thank you to our hosts.
Loved the cabin, especially the porch-spent most of the day there. However, the VRBO location is wrong, it is NOT in Slade, it’s in Rogers, about 20 minutes from the VRBO listing. Getting the exact location was confusing and a little concerning since not familiar with the area. The exact location and specific driving instructions could be improved.

Beautiful location
The shower curtain in the bathroom was super moldy. The property offers a DVD player with no DVD’s. It’s a family place with no board games or even cards. The hot tub was broken down and we were offered a $75 for both days. It’s not in the contract anywhere .

Definitely a good thing we had a truck with washed out gravel rd to the cabin. Cabin is 50 ft from rd that is surprisingly busy which would not be a big deal if there were curtains or blinds blocking that side of the cabin from the road . On arrival walked in multiple roaches on the floor and spiders in the tub, and the counters were dusty and sticky althoughwe were told it was cleaned that morning, and door lock only sometimes worked but There was clean bedding and towels.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient and felt very quiet and secluded. We had an issue with some electrical stuff not working properly and they sent someone out very quickly to deal with it.
We didn't realize that one of the bedrooms was a loft overlooking the living/dining area. That was a little inconvenient with our younger children but they eventually got used to it.
We arrived in the middle of a downpour and our minivan had a little trouble making it up the hill to the cabin. Once we figured out how to navigate some of the holes in the road we were able to drive up easily.
