Strange property. Staff was fine and the place was clean. However, prospective guests should understand that it caters to a clientele that differs from the average motel/hotel occupant. On our floor we smelled cigarette smoke, despite signs saying the building is a nonsmoking facility. Since there are cooking facilities in the rooms, cooking odors were also fairly strong in the hallway. There was a group on men having a sort of tailgate party in the back of a pickup truck in the parking lot. Latin music could be heard from time to time, including for a short time around 3 a.m. We wouldn’t have let the high ranking we saw on Expedia influence us to choose this Candlewood facility if we had understood that it has more of a residential character, rather than being a regular hotel/motel.

Attended Washington Commanders Training Camp and this hotel was close by and inexpensive. The hotel had a kitchen, complete with cooktop, microwave, full fridge, dishwasher, comfortable queen bed and large bathroom. This hotel doesn't have a pool but does have fitness room and small store to purchase items to be cooked or snacks.

Check in nightmare
Front desk person was an absolute nightmare. I had a picture of my Id and my physical credit card he gave us a hard time like we were criminals. It was me my 7 year old and my wife what a shame.
This was the AC in the room which did not blow cold air at all.

Terrible experience with hotels.com
I showed up. hotel was locked and I had no way of reaching anyone. The phone in the lobby went to voicemail. No one called me back in the 45 minutes I waited. I ended up having to book another hotel. Complete failure. The company refuses to do anything to make this right and I am in the process of taking them to small claims court.

You get what you pay for
This hotel needs some maintenance and updates. The faucet in the tub would not shut off, so it ran the entire time we were there. The main air conditioning system didn’t work for the entire suite. There was a separate moveable unit in the bedroom which was super loud and never cooled the room down so it constantly ran. The sleeper sofa mattress literally was torn apart at the one end and severely stained. Mold in the bathroom. Cobwebs on the light fixtures. Stains on the curtains. The room was a great size. Location was close to everything we needed. People were great. This place just needs some serious TLC, or at least our room did.

Very helpful for our early check-in. We had arrived even earlier than expected, and though the room wasn’t immediately ready, they made it priority to clean it next and contacted us by phone to let us know it was ready within 15 minutes. Friendly staff that recognized us later in the hall and asked how the events were going that brought us into town.

Convenient location & good for extended stays
The staff were simply the best! the hotel has a small business center with a printer that is free to use. the room was clean, hotel was quiet, a mini kitchen in the room with a full size fridge. the hotel is within walking distance to Wal-mart, Sam's club, Best buy & a Lowe's hardware & the Dulles Town Center Mall. Several fast food places are also close by. Wish there was a convenience store closer to the property. Only 15 minutes from Dulles Airport.
