Wonderful holiday

The property was clean and very well maintained.It had beautiful grounds with many olive trees. The The views from the property were spectacular. Porto Montenegro is a 12 minute drive away. It had a great range of restaurants. We had such a fantastic time we will be booking again next year.

Beautiful stay in the hills

We had an excellent time in Villa Garbo. Amazing views. The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. With shutters closed and A/C on it was nice and cool inside. Even though it was extremely hot outside. Sitting under the grapevines overlooking Tivat was very relaxing. A great house at a great place.

August stay after tour of balkans

Beautiful individual villa with a view that pictures cannot do justice to. Perfect description on VRBO but the pictures belie the size of the whole place. 2 large bathrooms (2 washing machines!) 3 large bedrooms. Outdoor space quiet and perfect for swim, exercise and BBQ. Perfect ....and thanks for accommodating our late check in from border crossing

Tolles Haus in Traumlage

Tolles und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus. Schöner und sauberer Pool. Toller Sitzplatz mit Blick aufs Meer. Einziger Nachteil: wohl aus Designgründen gibt es in den Schlafzimmern keine Klimaanlage. Bei knapp 40 Grad ist das in der Nacht recht warm und die einzige Klimaanlage im Flur reicht nicht aus.

La maison est vraiment à l’ecart, très au calme. Elle est très bien équipée avec une literie tres confortable. La vue est incroyable.Super qualité d’accueil : nous nous étions fait envoyé un paquet de France chez le propriétaire. Il nous a été tres gentiment été apporté.Merci !

Fantastic views

The directions were spot on and actually was pretty easy to find. No neighbours to worry about and truly fantastic views. The rooms were good sizes and the spacious grounds were great and very peaceful. Only small issue, and hence the 4 stars, is it is a shame that there are no stand up showers and just showers attached to the bath. Otherwise everything else was fantastic.

Prachtig huis met uniek zicht

We gingen met hoge verwachtingen naar Montenegro en specifiek dit huis. Onze verwachtingen werden volledig ingelost. Het is een prachtige streek en de villa is een perfecte uitvalsbasis om deze regio te ontdekken. Vooral het zicht bij terugkeer in de villa kon ons keer op keer bekoren. We hebben volop genoten en raden deze villa aan iedereen aan. Wel een hele rit naar boven maar dit is het zeker waard!

Easy to reach location in the hills, just a ten minute drive from the main road. Very peaceful and quiet. Ample sized Villa with lovely views. Needs more of a range of cooking pans in the kitchen, but otherwise well equipped throughout. No recliners or loungers by poolside, only chairs. Good sized bedrooms but none of the bathrooms have stand up showers, only hand held bath showers. Helpful and friendly owners.

Outstanding stay - August 2017

We had a great stay in villa Garbo. The place is just great: splendid view over the Tivat bay, very quite location, beautifully restored house, and a large swimming pool. Each year after our vacations, we are thinking that we have had the best accomodation ever, but this year after leaving villa Garbo and Gornja Lastva (the small village where the house is located) we had this impression more than ever ! Edi and his family are very kind and helpful, which is always nice where you are travelling abroad. I would definitively recommend this place whether it is for a group of adults or a family with children. Not to mention that Montenegro is worth a visit ! Francois

Beautiful house . Stunning surroundings. Enjoyed the seclusion whilst being 10 minutes from tivat and Porto montenegro . Only niggle . Full air conditioning would have been nice and directions to get to the ferry were inaccurate , apart from that we all had a fantastic holiday in Villa Garbo and would return

Amazing location and views

Lovely pool and views over the bay of Kotor, House beautifully renovated, everything you need in house. Aircon in all bedrooms would help (one central unit in corridor). Very peaceful in day and night. We would happily recommend Villa Garbo and had a lovely holiday there. Quite a few wasps outside in July which made eating outside hard

The owners were so helpful and nice, made our stay that much more comfortable. Villa is amazing, clean, well-equiped and there is everything you could possibly need to have a nice vacation. The position is amazing, nature and the view are surreal. So glad we could stay there!

Beautiful house with all comforts in a breathtaking location, competently run by charming landlords.

Villa Garbo is truly a jewel of a beautifully renovated historic stone mansion, situated in a breathtaking position dominating the bay of Tivat. The house is placed in a strategic position for visitors who are both interested in holidays on the beach (it is actually situated close to the ultra-posh marina Porto Montenegro) and in exploring the hinterland of this fascinating country. Villa Garbo is luxuriously yet intelligently furbished and comprises, among other amenities, a comfortably large swimming pool (which struck us due to its ever crystalline and fresh water) and an absolutely glorious stone-built barbecue grill. In synthesis: a beautiful and lovingly renovated house in a calm though central location, equipped with all amenities that one might need for a perfect holiday.

A lovely villa and pool with spectacular views

We’ve just returned from 2 weeks at this villa in Gornja Lastva, just outside Tivat in Montenegro. It was a wonderful villa that I wholeheartedly recommend. Edi and his family were there to meet us when we arrived and were very welcoming and helpful. I must admit when I booked I was a bit wary since this was the first time the villa had been listed on Owners Direct, so there were no reviews from other travellers, but after contacting Edi he did everything he could to reassure me, including providing bills and registrations for the property in his name, which gave me some reassurance. I needn’t have worried. The property was perfect for the 6 of us, a very good size with a lovely pool and all the mod cons you could need on a holiday including mosquito plug ins – as this property is up in the hills these are essential, so if you plan on sitting out in the evenings make sure you have some insect repellent spray as well. As the previous review mentioned the drive up to the villa is a bit windy but the view you get over Tivat, Porto Montenegro and the bay is spectacular, plus the solitude just adds to the tranquillity. The scenery around the Bay of Kotor is stunning and I’d say the location is probably one of the best places to be in the area, with Porto Montenegro, with it’s super yachts and some lovely restaurants and bars just on your doorstep. Make sure you visit the Lido bar and restaurant by the Porto Montenegro car park in the early evening, even if just for a drink - we only tried it towards the end of out stay but it was a gem. This was the first time I’ve used Owners Direct and it won’t be the last – I just hope other properties are as good as this one.

Ideal villa

Just returned from the most amazing stay at this lovely villa. It was the perfect size for 6 of us, and had everything we needed. It was a little hard to find, and up a very long and winding road, but this is completely worth it for the view you get from the balcony. It's only a 10 minute drive to a supermarket, and just a little further to Tivat centre itself. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
