SEE THE INFORMATION FOR SUMMER BELOW --- WINTER INFORMATION -- Schuss Mountain offers 46 runs and we are located at the foot of the blue quad chairlift. Truly a ski in and ski out accommodation. The quad chair lift located in front of the building makes waiting in line a thing of the past. Online (shantycreekresort.com) you may rent equipment and pick up the day of arrival, Rental equipment is available for board, skis, snowshoes and Nordic equipment. Lessons for every ability from beginner to advanced are available daily you may schedule online in advance. Extreme tubing is available at Cedar River and the shuttle bus will take you to the site. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub are only a one minute walk across the circle. Ivan's restaurant is across from the pool. Ivan's is a restaurant with a buffet and pub. On most weekend there is a live band. Special events are scheduled every weekend.

SUMMER: The indoor pool is open however, the main lodge and Ivan's Pub and Restaurant is closed. The Schuss side of the resort is mainly used during the winter months to accommodate the snow activities. The golf course at Schuss Mountain is open as well as three other course on resort property. If you are interested in a summer rental please contact Joyce.

The town of Bellaire, a small town with shops,
Shorts Brewery, restaurants and a movie theater. Casinos are close by in Traverse City and Petoskey.

Schuss Mt Resort at Shanty Creek: The indoor pool is now open !! Bellaire is a charming small town is only a 15 minute drive with restaurants, bars, movie theater and limited but fun shopping. An indoor water park at Boyne is 20 miles away. The Grass River nature area with hiking trails is open to the public at no charge. There are casinos in Traverse City and Petoskey.

Directions: Schuss Village is easy to find just follow the signs from M-88 into the village. You will be given complete directions and the door lock code upon confirming your reservation.

We used this as a room to change into our ski gear for the Special Olympics Winter Games
I arrived at Schuss Mountain without having a rental. I called and let Sue know what I needed and what we wanted it for. Within minutes she had the paperwork done and sent me a lock code to get in.

I loved my short stay here! The room is cozy and I didn't miss any of the amenities I have at home. The mattress was a bit too soft for my taste, but worked out well for my husband. The one thing that wasn't perfect is that the walls and door between rooms are not very thick, so I could hear the neighborhood. Otherwise the property is great for short ski getaways. It really is walking distance to the slopes. The host was very prompt when I had inquiries. I felt welcomed here and will definitely book again.

The room was clean and had toiletries available. Good location about halfway between 2 towns and close to nature trails and beaches. Owner was responsive and there was no check in process, only an email containing code and relevant info. I would recommend staying here if you like the outdoors.

Nice, cozy room
The room was nice and clean upon check in. There were items stocked in the kitchen that were nice additions- tea and coffee etc. The towels in the bathroom were very plush. The pool at the main lodge was spacious and there was a hot tub too. The town of bellaire was super cute and had many good restaurants and is close to torch lake and many other lakes. Lots of places to rent kayaks and canoes!! Good hiking trails very close by too!
