Meet pet sheep Emily’s newborn lambs and feed and fuss Mara & Wednesday (our pet goats), Larry (pet sheep) & Piglet & Rosie (pet cows). Our sheep are currently lambing & we have pet Flemish giant rabbits called Vadah & Mr Chips that love being hand fed!
The space
Our Farmstay apartment is a 60m2 dwelling set well off the road with private parking. It is ideal for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) or for 3 - 4 adults.
It’s surrounded by farmland and nestled within the Papamoa Hills Recreational Park.
Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural property. End the day with a sunset walk under endless stars up the Papamoa Hills walk or relax with a nice glass of wine and a cosy fire.
Then after a great night’s peaceful rest collect fresh eggs from the friendly chickens in our citrus orchard while the kids have a great time on the big tree swing and trampoline!
We also offer longer-term rental options up to 89 days till the end of November 2022.
Outside you have plenty of space to roam, run or relax. We have a football field out front for the kids to run wild, a trampoline, and an array of friendly hand-raised animals to fuss. There is a large tree swing in the neighbouring paddock where our friendly cows look forward to having their chin scratched.
At night you can sit outside and enjoy the abundance of stars and the sound of moreporks.
Inside everything has been designed with your comfort in mind with super comfortable new beds, pillows, mattresses. A fully functional kitchen with the essentials for cooking and baking and a large fridge freezer for you to stock up. There is an oven and hob, a dishwasher, and a washing machine.
In addition to a full-sized Smart TV with Netflix provided there is a Bluetooth soundbar for playing music. Internet is also provided.
The apartment is double glazed and fully insulated with air conditioning to keep it cool in summer and a wood-burning fireplace and heat pump to keep it warm and cosy in winter.
Free-range eggs, milk, tea, herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate are provided along with spices, sauces, and baking essentials.
Guest access
The entire dwelling is for your private use. The apartment is attached but “separated” from our small farm warehouse/office where our business is located.
There is a huge football field for your use in front of the accommodation and a netted trampoline! A very short walk to the next paddock has a couple of tree swings. You are also free to wander anywhere within that paddock. No fences are electric but all gates should be left as they are found.
Let us know if you have children coming and we will bring our tame goats, sheep, and cows down to hang out with them. They love a pat and we can provide food for hand feeding. In the orchard, just by your front door we have tame free-range chickens, so you can collect your own eggs to eat!
The Papamoa Hills recreational park has a fantastic walk (or run for fitness buffs ) culminating in beautiful views of the Mount and Papamoa - spectacular at sunrise and sunset, and of course, the beach is a 5-minute drive away.
