Perfect spot!

Loved the cozy vintage charm. The lake was quiet and beautiful. The cottage was plenty big and rooms were spacious. Already looking at booking for next year.

Perfect getaway for the family

Wonderful clean house with plenty of beds for the whole family. Home was clean and ready to go and felt very personalized. Thr access to the lake and boats was perfect for the family and kiddos who spent every morning and evening fishing from the dock and spending time with grandpa on the quiet calm lake. Hoise had everything we needed and still close to all the major towns to visit uet still out on our own. Would love to come back. Go Blue!

Huffman lake

When we arrived heat was not working. Maintenance person was in process of repairing boiler system. It took rest of day before house was warm. House is very nice and was very clean. Rental company did help me with purchase of wood for fireplace to keep warm first night.

We chose the Felker’s cottage because it was a central location for us to go rock hunting. We were able to drive to both sides of the state and even to the upper peninsula on day trips. Having access to the lake to go fishing was a huge plus. We caught a 24” northern pike when we took the paddle boat out fishing. Huge bluegill and perch were caught as well. There’s 5 rooms with beds, bathrooms on both floors and a huge kitchen table. There was a solo fireplace down by the dock which we didn’t use due to the high risk of fire. They had a huge ice storm a few weeks prior to our stay and there was still plenty of damage so it appeared to be a tinderbox which was very scary. The neighbors were very close and they stay on weekends but very friendly and helpful when we had questions about the area. Beautiful sunsets every night. The road gets busy on weekends but very little traffic during the week.

Gorgeous fall colors and Beautiful water view

Perfect weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the beautiful sceneries. Fall colors were popping! Came here to enjoy the northern michigan autumn and I thought this area had the best colors compared to main attractions nearby. Great place to ride bikes and bring pets. Its a very cute cottage with vintage charm. I wish they placed lawn chairs on the porch and balcony so that we could enjoy the lakeview. Also, there was dried up laundry left inside the washer. But overall, the place was neat and clean. The kitchen and bath are well stocked.

Beautiful, little lake, very comfortable house.

The Cottage was not as clean as years past, and maintenance is also slipping. But, the Freshwater team was quick to fix everything. Overall a fun, relaxing week.

Beautiful view

Our landscape crew loved coming to the cabin after a long day of work. Very comfortable and awesome view of the lake. Tree branches need to be trimmed to give a better view from the upper deck. We would highly recommend this location

Best vacation spot in Boyan. Go Michigan

We loved this mini vacation spot. This cottage was amazing the area and neighbors was so nice and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and perfect for a fathers day getaway. We had planty of room for all of us.My dad just lost his wife in March and this is something we all needed. We want to come back yearly.

Cozy and comfortable

We loved our stay on Huffman Lake! The house was super cozy and comfortable. We cooked a lot and were super impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was. We had everything we needed and more! The area is gorgeous- we enjoyed walking out to the lake to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and exploring the forest and searching for elk herds. Hope we can return some day!

Family Friendly

Very clean and very well supplied. Paddle boat and kayak were a plus. Fun place to fish for bluegill and swim. Quiet location with access to other outdoor venues. Property manager was very helpful and accommodating.

Perfect Week Getaway

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The house was quaint and comfortable. We enjoyed a fire each night, and soaks in the jet tub. Our kids fell in love with the house. Everything we needed was there, except a fire extinguisher, which the owner had the property manager bring over right away. We enjoyed walks in the woods, right out the back yard, and even bike rides around the lake (in 45 degrees and cooler weather). We'll very likely be back for another visit.

A magical fall getaway

We absolutely loved our time at the the Felkers Cottage. We went during peak fall. The colors were so vibrant next to the blue water. The Stars were breathtaking. We sat in awe on a cool still night watching shooting stars. We could see the milkyway so clearly and the stars reflecting on the water were magical! Definitely a highlight on our trip. We enjoyed fires in the the evening in the beautiful fireplace. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The neighbors are friendly and we enjoyed the area. We took a day trip to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Sand dunes one day and a trip to Petoskey/ Pond Hill Farm the other day. I would highly recommend staying here, really anytime of the year. We hope to visit again one day.
