Summer residence ILLYRIA is a 4-star domicile in the Kvarner Bay, which impresses with its aesthetics and service philosophy. The aesthetics exude true southern and Mediterranean character and its luxury is expressed without high-gloss surfaces in the processing and use of fine materials.
Summer residence ILLYRIA is located in the beautiful Vinodol valley surrounded by lush, quiet nature in the town of Bribir. The valley extends in parallel along the Adriatic coast from Bakar Bay in the northwest to the town of Novi Vinodolski in the southeast, which lies on the Adriatic coast. The valley itself is only a few kilometers from the coast and is about 200 meters above sea level. Due to its location, the residence escapes the tightness and hectic pace of many Croatian coastal and holiday resorts and turns out to be a suitable refuge for a vacation that stimulates the mind, soul and body, relaxes and lets new strength be drawn. Nevertheless, due to its special location, the residence takes advantage of all the advantages of the region's infrastructure - variety of cultural offers, beautiful beaches, numerous cafés and restaurants, many excursion options, connections to local and long-distance transport - nature, culture, history, country and Croatian people to experience and discover. As soon as you enter the residence you are surrounded by the sounds of nature - the twittering of the birds is in the air, the leaves rustle in the wind, the scent of the trees, meadows and the sea soak the air. You immediately feel an inner calm and relaxation.
The country house was built in the middle of the 19th century and lies north of the center of Bribir. The layout of the country house is characteristic of the construction of a Croatian estate of the 18th / 19th century. An elongated main building, an annex and a wall surround the typical courtyard. This courtyard houses a lush vine arbor that provides deep shade over the summer. Contemporary arch architecture adorns the courtyard along the facade of the main building. Outside this enclave were orchards and vegetable gardens, vineyards and meadows for the livelihood of the farming family. The large main building accommodated living rooms for the extended family on the upper floor. The rooms maintaining these living rooms served as stables for the animals and as pantries and storage rooms. The majority of everyday life took place in the annex. Here was the kitchen, where meals were prepared, laundry washed, slaughtered meat cured and smoked, vegetables preserved / canned for the winter and fruit processed into jams.
After the acquisition, the country house was renovated piece by piece with attention to detail. The existing buildings were completely renovated and restored in several stages. During the renovation process, great importance was attached to maintaining the architectural features of the time of construction and to emphasizing the properties and splendor of a country house. At the same time, the aim was to use and incorporate modern and environmental building concepts. A large garage was built on the property bordering the east and a courtyard was created that offers plenty of parking. Vines, olive and fig trees are planted on the rest of the property, which, like then, represent the natural vegetation typical of the region.
