The Seven Cities Lagoon is one of the most iconic landscapes in the Azores, with two large lagoons of distinct colours (blue and green), separated by a bridge. The Miradouros such as the King’s View and the Boca do Inferno offer spectacular panoramic views, ideal for unforgettable photographs. For unique moments of relaxation, we have the thermal baths at Ferraria or a very different experience in the ocean with a natural swimming pool heated with hot volcanic water where you can swim at various temperatures.
You can also experience local cuisine at cosy restaurants or pick up a picnic on the edge of the Seven Cities lagoon surrounded by lush vegetation and also visit the lagoons of the Canary Islands, Santiago and Empadadas, all offering very quiet atmospheres with a silence and sounds of nature generated by the mountains and trees. There is a romantic legend of a forbidden love between a princess and a shepherd that talks about the origin of the different colours of the lagoons.
