BEYNAC, charming village located near Sarlat, La Roque Gageac, the castle of Milandes, Lascaux, Les Eyzies...
Our house is located halfway between the river and the majestic castle of the village.
It is atypical and bright. It offers an unforgettable view of the river from each room.
It is not suitable for young children or very old people. Your entrance will be through the living room, a large bright room consisting of a kitchen, a living room and a dining room.
A pretty wooden staircase leads to the 2 bedrooms.
The bathroom is composed of a basin, a shower and a toilet (fully renovated in February 2023).
From all the rooms, a breathtaking view of the Dordogne will be offered to you!
Small terrace for a drink, an aperitif and why not your breakfast or your dinner?
It is also a nice place to take pretty pictures.

A superb location and great communication!
A beautiful location situated on the footpath to Beynac Castle. The accomodation is well equipped, spacious and clean. We had initial problems with WIFI but the owners and Martine were fantastic in helping us to sort the issues out and communication was great, so it was all sorted rapidly. We would highly recommend this accommodation and location!

Magic of la Dordogne
Everything about this area of France is magical. And Frédérique’s home in the quaint village of Beynac is a perfect place to spend time while enjoying the countryside. Convenient to everything but do be prepared for the hill to walk up to arrive so you can enjoy the view. I chose la Dordogne over Provence as I wanted peaceful and beauty without overly touristy. It was the end of summer so quieter most likely than 2 weeks prior in the area and I enjoyed all of the Périgord. The description and photos are true to the house. It’s very charming and cozy but spacious. Yes, the bathroom is downstairs and the shower is a bit small but who cares! You’re in one of the most stunning areas of France on vacation. Frédérique is gracious and responds quickly always. I did have a few questions before making my reservation and she responded immediately and was very accommodating. Once I arrived and Martine had met for the check in, Frédérique sent a quick text to make sure I was ok and made some restaurant recommendations that were appreciated. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe and at home. You can see a million stars at night with the moon over the Dordogne river and get to see several hot air balloon sightings that are so close you can almost touch them. It was a perfect end to summer.

Great Location/Views but very Tired Inside
We stayed at this accommodation from the the 8th August to the 15th August. We have stayed at Sarlat/Beynac four times now within the last 7 years and would highly recommend this beautiful part of the world to everyone. This is the first time I felt I needed to put a review forward. The accommodation we stayed at in Sarlart was fab. Unfortunately, whilst the accommodation is beautiful outside, in a great location and has fantastic views, it definitely needs some attention and love inside. The kitchen and bathroom in particular are very dated and this is not to do with making it traditional french. Lots of the kitchen facilities are missing, chipped, old, broken. We had spent one week prior in Sarlat where we ate out every night because of the choice we had, but we had decided to cook most nights in this accommodation because although the local restaurants are great, there are only a few and very expensive. We did a full weeks shop on the day we arrived and based this on having an oven as advertised. THERE IS NO PROPER OVEN. There are also no sharp knifes, cutlery for cooking, decent plates etc. A bit shocked considering the price of the accommodation. The iron board was so old almost unusable. The freezer doesn’t work properly. The bathroom is extremely small and tap is really faulty. The shower is so small that all of my family members accidentally caught the tap and it went from luke warm to burning hot in a second. Quite dangerous. It appears that the cleaner, Martine does everything for this accommodation and probably too much. A couple of days into our stay, I asked her about the oven. Shockingly, she went into a cupboard under the stairs and brought out a so called oven which was smaller than a microwave???? Under the stairs …what on Earth!!!!! I had to cook some pizzas I had bought on this oven, I had to cut them into quarters and it took 1hour 30 mins to cook two pizzas. This is not what I want to do on holidays. I feel the owner is absolutely thinking I am in a great location, I don’t need to make much effort. I realise now that I should have realised there are only 20 views over a long period of time. To top it, the day before we left I received a text suggesting that my family check out between 7am and 9.30am. Our checkout time was 10am?? I sent a text back stating our check out time was 10am and it was suggested we leave at least by 9.30 to allow her cleaner to clean the accommodation. The owner needs to approve this property.

Absolutely charming
We researched so many different options in this area and decided on this place. We made the right decision! We were right in the heart of the most beautiful little town. The town is quiet and peaceful but had a boulangerie, a very cool castle, a delicious restaurant (Le petit tonnelle), a canoe service, and the best views around. What a joy to wake up to that view every morning! We were easily able to visit several caves in the area (font de Gaume, Lascaux, gouffres de padirac), châteaux, the jardin de marqueyssac, Sarlat). Everything is so easily accessible from this location. The house itself has everything you would need. We were there during an intense heat wave but the house’s thick walls and shutters kept us cool downstairs. The shower was a bit tricky but we figured it out. We loved Martine who met us and introduced us to the house. Frédérique is such a lovely host who helped us choose restaurants and was always there via text if we had any questions. Still dreaming of our evening apéros on the little terrace there. Heaven.

Wonderful views of the Dordogne River. A plumbing issue was eventually resolved; host was attentive.

Heavenly view from a hilltop
The first thing to say is that the view of the Dordogne River and environs will stay with you forever. The furnishings were lovely in the stone abode were lovely. Martine, the helper, cheerful and willing to tolerate bad French. Two important things to know if you are older-Access is by foot up a rather steep stone path and the bathroom is downstairs. Pour moi, ça valait la peine.

Beautiful river view
An old stone building that has everything one needs. The view from the windows and terrace are beautiful but the terrace is tiny! The hosts are very nice and attentive as needed.

Outstanding experience
I highly recommend this home and location. I believe it to have the best view of the Dordoyne and location in the area. It is on a lovely cobblestone street and everyone who passes it stops to take pictures and chat. The people are so friendly and made our two weeks there even better. Frederique was easy to reach and offered many suggestions during our stay. Martine, the housekeeper was both funny and available to us. The house is within a short drive or walk to four castles, one of the most beautiful gardens I have seen and so much more. Frederique will tell you all about the amazing sites and restaurants. Great view
We loved this property...the view of the Dordogne river is fabulous. The house is very comfortable and has plenty of space. Hot air balloons flew overhead several mornings. Be aware that the hill up to the house is quite steep but the view is worth it. Also, the one bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the sevond floor.
