We chose this apartment because of its proximity to the beach and center of Byron town, and the location is convenient. The street traffic can be loud at times though. We knew it wasn't the most modern apartment, but what we found was well below par. no digital TV and in fact an ancient TV in main living area and master bedroom. The barbecue was in state of disrepair, the pool area and pool was dilapidated, and door to the pool wouldn't lock so the apartment wasn't secure . The lining was peeling off a couple of sofas. The shower faucets would be the cheapest on the market and oldest things installed and had zero water pressure. Kitchen pots, pans, and utensils were average. Even the toaster was broken. Oh, and no hair dryer provided. Above all, the agency Raine And Horne were not accomodating at all when we asked for a 1 hour late check out. We knew the property did not have incoming guests on our check out day, and yet incomprehensibly Raine & Horne said we couldn't check out an hour later than usual. We happened to be outside the apartment and we noted that two hours after our check out time the apartment remained empty - there were no cleaners, no owners, frustratingly an empty apartment. I don't see why it would have been such a problem offering late check out? Also, making the reservation via Raine & Horne was arduous to say the least, several phone calls not returned, emails not replied etc... Not simple and not a great booking experience. Overall I will NOT be recommending this apartment, not Raine & Horne Byron Bay to anyone I know
