這座圍牆內的歷史古鎮位於亞平寧山脈 (Apennines)，鄰近托斯卡尼 (Tuscany) 邊境。鎮上集合了一些翁布里亞 (Umbria) 最優質的古代和現代藝術品。

卡斯泰洛城 (Città di Castello) 是座位於上泰伯谷 (Upper Tiber Valley) 的藝術小鎮。鎮內的精彩藝術傑作包括 15 世紀的壁畫、出自喬爾喬瓦薩里 (Giorgio Vasari) 之手的飾品、Alberto Burri 的抽象畫，以及中世紀鍍銀祭壇。

市政廳 (Palazzo Comunale) 建於 14 世紀，建在早期羅馬遺跡上。您可登上相連的市政塔 (Torre Comunale) 欣賞卡斯泰洛城和四周一帶的絕佳美景。

卡斯泰洛城位於省首府佩魯賈 (Perugia) 以北 35 英里 (56 公里) 外。佩魯賈和聖安娜 (Sant’Anna) 設有固定班次巴士前往當地。不妨特地駕車前往卡斯泰洛城外的「fraziones」小區，例如莫拉 (Morra)、聖塞孔多 (San Secondo) 和特雷斯蒂納 (Trestina) 等，以窺探泰伯谷一帶在中世紀時期的生活。

Dreaming of our return

"Our two adult children who were studying abroad met us here with our younger two children. We had two nights in a 12 day stay in Italy. Of all our stops, this was by far our favorite. Sehr ruhiger Ort um einmal vom Alltag abzuschalten!!!
