Glacier Cabin is a two story, hand built log cabin on our 320 acre working Alaskan homestead. It has two bedrooms with cozy queen beds, one upstairs and one down, plus hot water, electricity, and two bathrooms (one with a shower, one with a bathtub). The main level includes a small couch, table for four, and a simple desk. There is no TV or city noise, just a private, peaceful place to lay your head, breathe fresh air, and enjoy forest views. Wrangell Mountain Homestead was first built in the 1970s with timber milled on site. After sitting empty for years, our family is restoring it one step at a time. Some areas look rustic or unfinished because this is a living project, not a polished resort. When you stay here, you are part of that story. We are in a remote part of Alaska surrounded by pure nature. The nearest towns are a drive away: 30 minutes to Chitina, an hour to Glennallen, 1 hour 45 minutes to Valdez, and 2.5 hours to Kennicott. You may hear occasional farm or land work, but you will have full access to Glacier Cabin and plenty of space to explore. Some areas are private or under repair, so please respect locked rooms and buildings. If you are looking for a genuine Alaskan stay, remote, unplugged, and full of history, this is it.
