RUSTIC by The Sea

We had 3 nights in late May at this property. Its situated in the dunes by the sea. Amazing position. Morning and afternoon walks along the beach and just out the back door. BUT.... it was so COLD! There were no electric blankets on the beds and the 2 ceramic heaters were totally inadequate because of the high ceilings. The temperature when we stayed there was 1_2 degrees at night. Only the main bathroom had a strip heater nothing in the ensuite. The house was very draughty. There was a wood heater which heated the loungeroom but the damper didnt work and the fire burned out by 11pm. I slept in full thermals and socks under pjs with doona and all three spare blankets on top and i still neary froze at night!

Well set up. Wonderfully located. Comfortable. Cold. Fortunately we had great weather and could sit outside where it was warmer. If only the original designers had thought about solar access it would have been perfect. We would visit again but probably in the warmer months with a lower risk of cold weather.

Beach House and Beach

Our stay was fantastic, Very comfortable and bed was amazing. The house is in an amazing position if you enjoy a romantic walk on the beach. Felt like it was our personal beach. Fantastic views from just outside the bark door. Only thing that was wrong was they wanted to charge extra for any extra people that might stay, we also had to purchase our own dishwashing detergent because the bottle was empty.

Amazing views

Such a beautiful area to stay in. The views from the house were amazing with the ocean on one side and mountains on the other. Listening to the waves at night was so soothing. The beach was pristine and we caught several fish from directly in front of the house. The house was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we required. Bicheno is just a short drive with beautiful restaurants and cafes and I would highly recommend visiting the wildlife park. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely clean accommodation steps from the beach, comfy beds and great showers.

Needs a little TLC inside and out but overall we had no real issues other than tuning in the tv for local stations. The beach was wonderful and the dogs got thoroughly spoilt with beach walks. Mum was a little out of her comfort zone but enjoyed her stay. Great having 2 bathrooms and all the space you need.
