In town for a wedding. 2 nights and the cost was close to $600 once resort fees are added in. For $600 you do not get fresh towels or beds made unless you make a call and request this service. I was informed of this upon my return to my room near 3pm. After the request was made I came back 3 hours later and found a plastic bag of clean towels dumped on the bedroom floor and the bed was still not made. The Hyatt Company and the Welk Resort just failed miserably. With plenty of options to stay in the North County of San Diego we will not be returning. Friends of ours stayed at a nearby Fairfield and were impressed with their room, service and complimentary breakfast, all at around $120/night. Heed the reviews. I only blame myself for choosing this resort, or lack thereof. This review is for anybody who wishes to hear my opinion...

Nice resort to stay for a weekend. It is a bit far from shopping area, the only grocery store on site is charging too much, almost everything is double priced.

As reported by other visitors, the check-in process at the Welk Resort was terrible. After standing in line for at least 1/2 hour, it still took another 45 minutes for them to check us in. I don't know what is going on, but it needs to get managed. Despite making arrangements via Expedia.com to pay for our rooms in two transactions, our cards were not charged until we arrived and so the entire cost of the room was charged at the same time. Other than that, the resort was lovely, the staff was friendly and professional and we all really enjoyed ourselves.
