Such a characterful property, with individual features, yet offering all the modern comforts. On site brewery and pub, very central location. would very much recommend, would happily stay there again

This was a great spot to stay on our first night in Exeter! It's right in the center of town so you're really close to everything. There's also a pub downstairs/next door which was convenient. We had a minor plumbing issue the first night, but the hotel was able to take care of it. I would stay here again!

Rooms are lovely and staff are great but the noise at night is terrible. Granted you are provided with ear plugs but upgrading windows to cancel out noise from the terrace would be ideal. Otherwise a nice stay

Beautifully furnished old room up several small flights of stairs (not easily accessible for some). Recently refurbished old pub in a really central location near the Cathedral. Staff were amazing - managing to make us tea & coffee when there was a power cut! Would definitely reommend.

A quirky find in Exeter

What a fabulous, quirky venue. We’ve booked and going back in October. Staff absolutely lovely, especially Anna. My tip is don’t book room 2 if you like to sleep with the window open, but otherwise all just lovely and near the train station too

A little slice of history

Fantastic little gem, in a beautiful historic building. Staff worked incredibly hard to welcome me and make my stay a pleasant one. Would definitely stay here again if I need to visit Exeter

Would never stay again and shpuld not be on expedia. I should not have to pay for this lodging as it was rated wonderful and good location which it never was I did not feel safe to even go out for dinner.

Lovely Room

It was a really nice room with good amenities - bottled water, good coffee and lovely smellies in the bathroom. The rooms are above a pub, so it was busy outside late at night, but the windows are double glazed and they provided us with ear plugs just in case (I dont need them). The entrance is next door to the actual pub, which feels really friendly and cosy. However I think they could do with cleaning the doorway/entrance in the mornings (a quick bucket of water or something) as it wasn't very inviting to open onto bodily fluids left in the doorway.

P and G stay 16th May 25

On the high street so no parking at the pub, lots of nearby NCP parks, used the App and got a discount for an overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, carried our bags up to our room. The top two rooms (5 & 6) are not for the old or infirm, loads of stairs. Room (No. 5) was pleasant, bedding and towels clean, bed was comfortable with the windows shut there was no street noise. Didn't hear any noise from the bar which was open until 1am. Had a drink in the bar on arrival, typical city centre prices, but there are a couple of Wether spoons nearby. Bathroom ok, nice shower. Couldn't turn hot water tap off fully hence low eco-friendly score. Would use again.
