Great hotel to start with. The remodel and elegant decor adds a more inviting atmosphere then your normal beach hotel. I can't wait to go back when pool area is finished. The staff from valet parking, front staff, house keeping were wonderful and helpful. The restaurant was great and great staff. 2 disappointments were not being able to use saunas without buying a spa package. 2nd the Sunday brunch looked fantastic. Should have 2 prices 1 with liquor and 1 without for Sunday brunch. Since we were driving back to San Antonio no one in our group wanted to drink but eat. Hotels lose our savings.

Our AC didnt work the first night. we reported it on the second day and i was fixed. the bar claimed to close at midnight each night but they made last call at 11:30 so they could clean up and go home, so seems that makes the bar close at 11:30 if you cant get drinks after 11:30 - that seems small but its very disappointing when the bar is one of the reasons you booked the hotel. we got back late both nights and would have enjoyed the last thirty minutes of the bar since it is advertised that it stays open until midnight. the bartenders seemed flustered and put out both nights. both nights were very busy with a wedding party there but seems this should have been expected since the wedding and reception were at this hotel - so its not like it was unexpected.

We loved the history, uniqueness and ambience on the property. The pool area was closed for renovation. The weather was probably too cold for a dip in the pool
