Green Meadow is a charming traditional cottage set on the edge of the village of Castle Morris on the road to Mathry and little more than 3 miles from the coast. Deceptively spacious, this shingle-clad cottage with sash windows hides a unique open-plan interior with a high vaulted ceiling. It is comfortably furnished in a wonderful eclectic mix of traditional and modern and has a nautical theme in seascape hues giving it a holiday feel that is sure to delight. 1 step up takes you onto the verandah running along the back of the cottage - a super sunny spot to relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine - and into the open plan living space with its practical hard floors. The central fireplace with its wood burning stove is perfect for those chillier evenings, snuggle around it on the large corner sofa or relax in the quiet reading area. Enjoy meals round the farmhouse style dining table in the fitted kitchen area, which is well-equipped. A double bedroom and shower room lead off the living space with open tread stairs leading up to a galleried landing and a double bedroom nestling in the eaves above. The enclosed garden wraps around the back and side of the cottage. Sheltered by mature trees and with a lawned area, you can relax on the verandah or enjoy a barbecue on a summer’s evening on the decked terrace, a real sun trap with lovely views over the surrounding fields. Being surrounded by abounding fields, there are numerous footpaths and quiet country lanes to wander, yet the coast is just a short distance away. Walk down to the beach at Abermawr or visit the fishing village of Abercastle, a picturesque shingle inlet, where fishermen land their catch. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning coastline on foot, taking in the coves and beaches of Aberfelin below the village of Trefin or Porthgain which has an excellent pub, The Sloop Inn, as well as a restaurant, The Shed Bistro, together with art galleries. Explore Abereiddy with its black shingle beach and the Blue Lagoon made famous by the Red Bull Cliff Diving Championships. A visit to Whitesands Beach, world famous and popular with surfers, professionals and beginners alike, should not be missed, while the tiny City of St Davids with its majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace offers an excellent range of shops, pubs and restaurants to try, all within a short drive. Alternatively, head north to the rugged Strumble Head, Fishguard, Dinas Head and Newport beyond. The village of Mathry is only 2 miles away and has a popular pub and tearooms or treat yourself to fish and chips from the award winning restaurant in nearby Letterston, where there is also a garage, shop and excellent butchers stocking local meat.
