Convenient to Local Family
The location was excellent for visiting our Altadena relative and my husband's family who flew in from Japan. The town is quaint, making it hard to believe we were visitng the gigantic LA area. We were surprised to realize we were staying in the owner's actual residence and mostly cautious about even turning on the t.v. in the living room. Thus, we did understand why all the rules. I regret that we didn’t use the pool, but our relatives never wanted to leave the aunt's house. If you are looking for a small town feel with access to Santa Monica Pier, the La Brea Tar Pits and all the museums, this location is great.

There is not enough space for more than 6 people
The listing claims "4 beds", with a room with a single and king in it. However, this room is just a trundle bed that can be a single OR a king. There is a pullout couch, and an air mattress. The living room (where the air mattress fits) contains a clock that chimes every single hour... Luckily after the first night of no sleep, the hosts let us take out the batteries. Being charged extra per person for the people on the couch and air mattress is laughable. The house has a heating issue where the front bedroom is unbearably hot, while the rear rooms are freezing cold. We tried to mitigate this but couldn't. There was little to no communication about how to check-in, or otherwise. They were somewhat responsive to our messages, but told us stuff like, "please do not have people rumbling through the sheets in the closet," even though these were the sheets for the air mattress. Otherwise, the house is nice, although full of expensive rules. It seems pretty ridiculous that the dishwasher is off limits, as well as the hot tub and all the other small fees and rules. This house worked out for us, as we were here for a wedding for 2 nights and were mostly spending time elsewhere. I would not recommend this house to anyone looking for a getaway, and I would definitely not recommend this house to any groups more than 6 people.

I enjoyed the literature and artwork throughout the house. My kid’s enjoyed the massive pool and deck area. The front porch view of the mountains where spectacular.

Spacious home with great backyard!
Lovely house with lots of room and charm. The backyard and pool are fantastic, very large pool and was very clean. Was around the corner from an Aldi which was great for grocery shopping. Located on a pretty, quiet neighborhood street. Herbie was very responsive on the vrbo app!

Wonderful Retreat
Really enjoyed our stay in Herbie's beautiful home. Wonderfully decorated with easy access to many attractions. The home was stocked with everything we needed. The pool was awesome, and the mornings were great, sitting on the deck and enjoying the sounds of the birds. It was like a little oasis! Would recommend and would stay here again!!

Great property
The house was wonderful. Filled with artwork that was painted by the property owner. The process of check in and out couldn't have been easier. Beds were comfortable and all the rooms were great. The common areas were inviting and a fabulous place to sit and talk. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again if the need present itself.

Great location, fabulous pool!
Nice neighborhood and location to hiking, restaurants, Pasadena. Beautiful yard and pool! Inside is neat and clean, needs a new mattress in double bed, very uncomfortable. Had a great time!
