"This was the first time I have stayed in Oak Hill Inn but it won't be my last. My room was charming and quiet, plenty big enough for two though it was just me this time. The last time I stayed in Julian it was at the Julian Hotel and I felt confined and claustrophobic (I had to leave the room to change my mind). No such issues at the Oak Hill Inn. A big plus is that it's just a five minute walk up the hill to reach the heart of Julian. It is a bit tricky getting into the room, as the entrance is at the top of a steep staircase. So, make a few trips to get safely into the room (don't overload yourself). There is a nice looking little pool for the warmer months of the year (much too cold in April). At the end of my trip I neglected to take my pillow, leaving it on the bed. The owners and I have communicated and they will gladly hold it until my next drive into Julian. Good customer service!"

"My husband and I travel a lot and stayed in many hotels around the world. I have to say this is one of the most interesting hotels we have stayed. One can easily see the influence of Buddhism from many art works and furniture in display throughout the hotel. The location of the hotel give you a sense of tranquility and peace. The stuff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our staying. "

"Checked in at 9 was cold and windy outside in April did not expect, but once inside, was comfortable and clean. Hot water instant the next day was a plus. Refri and microwave worked well."

The invitation to join their happy hour was a delightful surprise, and we were impressed by the attentive and friendly staff throughout. Karolyn’s care made us feel truly at home. The live music by Rachel Richie added an extra touch of magic to our stay. Orchard Hills quickly became one of our favorite experiences, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable getaway."

"This place is amazing!!! Low-stress communication with the host, easy keyless entry. It is a cozy home, but yet with enough room to relax and spread out. The view of the pond right behind the house was very pleasant and a nice bonus to the area. By day, there is birdsong of all kinds, and by night, a symphony of frogs chirping will lull you to sleep! They got progressively louder from twilight until well past midnight. Hilarious and enchanting! Really quaint, magical, property. NO other rooms or loud businesses around so the solitude and double-paned windows were heavenly. Everything you could possibly think of was available - games, cards, fully stocked kitchenwares, coffee and tea service, binoculars, batteries, high-model telescope, bicycles, cold packs, extra comforters and pillows, a fun vintage replica radio/phonograph, etc. Even cooler is the small tavern, Nickel Beer, tacross the street! We met the guy that makes the beer, Ray, and the manager, Shawn! Friendly helpful guys. The list of craft beers was impressive. The few suggestions I have are easily manageable - need to clear away grassy area that covers up the address box. It was not lighted so we got a little lost turning onto the wrong dirt road. I will definitely be back. The slightly higher price is worth the beauty, charm, and serenity the house and location have to offer. "

"Really like that they welcome dogs. Easy check in. Interesting that we were supposed to let the staff know by 3:30pm if we needed anything for our room but check in is not until 4pm.🤔"

"This is a very pleasant place where you can rest and have a very good relaxation, looking towards that beautiful lake, we were lucky enough to have a heavy snowfall where everything became like a Christmas card The place was very clean and cozy and John was very kind and helpful to us, we asked him if he would let us check out later and he soon told us that there was no problem, we also forgot a Bible and he contacted us and very kindly sent us the Bible by mail and we are very grateful for that, he was also very attentive, that we would not lack wood for the fireplace. Everything was lovely, the bedrooms were very comfortable and the living room was very cozy, the kitchen was very functional and the bathroom was spacious and always had plenty of hot water. We are sure we will return again It is a highly recommended and spacious place Having 4 folding beds is a great plus"
