Even the smallest rooms have all the essentials of an apartment : fridge, microwave, 1-burner stove, tiny washer/dryer machine - this would be a great place if you have a longer stay, or just don't want to feel like you are living out of a suitcase.
The hotel is not marked from the outside : if you are coming in a taxi, it's best to pull up the map and just show the driver (google maps can find "95 Rixin Avenue", but note that you'll need a vpn to access google maps in China). Alternatively, ask to be taken to the well-known Westin hotel, which is the next building over. The building has a front desk; tell them you are heading to the hotel and they will send you up to the 12th floor, which is where the actual hotel reception is.
The staff is friendly and professional. They were able to change my reservation dates easily, passed on messages, offer luggage storage, etc. If you do not speak any Mandarin, there is usually someone around who speaks enough english for really simple questions, but for more complex things you may need to pull out google translate.
None of the rooms are completely non-smoking; and my room did have a bit of smell but it was more "industrial cleaner" than "stale cigarette", and relatively easy to ignore. Unfortunately, the centralized heating system pulls in very smoky air : I had to leave the heat off and sleep in a coat.
I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip; and I would return.
