We checked in at 3pm, and immediately found multiple spiders in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, roaches in the bedroom, ants in the bathroom, and what appeared to be rodent feces in the bathroom. I messaged the host twice informing her of the situation and received no reply. I called twice, leaving a message around 3:25pm, again stating the issue and asking to resolve the matter with a refund, but no reply. The host texted around 8pm with directions to the property, but had yet to acknowledge my previous messages. Evolve, who manages the property, contacted me around 8:45pm, and after reviewing the photos and videos of the insect infestation and what seemed to be rodent feces, they issued a refund ASAP. VRBO was very apologetic as well, and as soon as they saw the photos, they told me I would be getting a refund. When we left at 3:30pm, we ran into a woman who identified herself as a tenant in the unit next to ours. (This is also misleading — the house appears to be its own unit based on the photos, but it’s actually a duplex/split unit with a shared wall.) We asked the woman if she knew where we could find the host, and she pointed to the house next door and told us she was home! Since we didn’t have instructions to knock on her door and I felt it was inappropriate, I did not confront her. Hosts like this should be banned from VRBO, and companies like Evolve should be ashamed of themselves for misrepresenting properties like this.
