I would like to preface this by saying this review is strictly on the customer service experienced from the Casiola team as we never actually stayed at the property. We contacted this property on June 30th requesting a cancellation and full refund due to a sudden family issue that required one of our party being hospitalized. We understood the cancellation policy but asked for a courtesy due to our circumstances, which the hotel agreed to. However since then, we have had to contact the hotel several times to follow up on our refund. We were in email and phone contact with several members of the Casiola team such as Joycemilit, Nicole and Ashley and constantly redirected to contact Expedia for our refund. This resulted in literal hours of queue time waiting for Expedia agents to contact us to only then be informed the HOTEL denied our refund. Clearly, there is a fundamental lack of communication between the team members at Casiola. Imagine being in and out of hospitals and having to personally call in all the time to follow up. It is now 2 weeks since we originally contacted the property and we have yet to see a refund or even on a more basic level, have someone from the team follow up with us. We are repeat guests of the Vista Cay Resort (managed by Casiola) and the inattentiveness of the staff as well as the inability to provide customer service in this situation and go above and beyond to assist us on this matter has terribly soured our experience of this property.
