Excellent Hotel in the perfect location
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff did not speak English but everything was solved with the translation apps. Breakfast catered for all including gluten and dairy free options. Close to the airport (ten mins in shuttle bus) and Metro into Shenzhen. Bo 'an Central only ten minutes away. Going back again next year and will certainly be using this hotel again.

Very close to train station
This Hotel was located within a short walk from Hourui MTR Station and so was easy to locate. Was a very good sized room. Very interested Hotel with different décor, but in a nice way. There were restaurants nearby and a morning bus to the airport.

Nice hotel but bad smelling
I was attracted by the ad as a smoke-free building. But disappointingly, the building has ash trays next to the elevators on every floors. My room was contaminated by the cigarette smoking smell probably from other customers. Smoking customers were not respecting house rules and management were not enforcing the rules either. The bad smell penetrated the wall paper. I could not stand the bad smell in the room and I just won't return to this hotel. Other than that everything was fine.

The best and the worst
Mehood is certainly appart in Chinese hotels. It's a boutique hotel, with a unique "hipster" that sees floors and rooms decorated with eclectic objects and odd designs. Mehood is by far the most intriguing hotel I've been in China and I've been to quite a few. A boombox plays eastern and western tunes when you come in, the aircon is actually quiet (a rare event), windows are double panned (even more rare), and the room is very quiet, even as it sits opposite the metro tracks and, well, a runway. It's location is odd, this side of the airport is drifting into oblivion since terminal A & B closed. New projects are coming out of the ground but it's still a very mixed bag. There is lots of local activity close by, (shops, restaurant, etc) aimed mostly at the factory worker crowd. As a westerner, you will stand out. As a tourist, you'll be a red beacon. Why the worst then ? Because I've traveled China far and wide and I can't remember encountering so little English in a hotel. Even more frustrating as Shenzhen is probably one of the cities you can find the most English in China. Nothing, not basic words such as "airport", "room", "check-out", "up", "down" or basic numbers, 1-10. Not a menu, not a notice, a word on a board in English. If it was in the Sichuan mountains I wouldn't say a thing, but in Shenzhen, in 2017, 10 minutes from an international airport, there is little excuse.

The Disaster
This 4 star hotel is offering rooms without window. Pretty exciting experience which in my naivety I reserved for my funeral. Walls so thin that I have heard ,,every breath my neighbour took ". But the real noise which killed all attempts to have at least short nap was drilling the wall alike sound from very nearby. Ear plugs, double pillow on my head didn't help. Last but not least fitness facilities featured on Expedia site must be stairs in this 10 floors building. With only 2 lifts for whole building if one do not enjoy 10 minutes waiting for his turn stairs are only option. I asked reception manager there is no other gym inside. Only stairs, stairs to hell... If you are a BDSM fan, blind and deaf insomniac then this hotel is a perfect match for you. Enjoy! All others avoid this place even if it will be the only place available in Shenzhen. There is a plenty of space on the floor in airport. P.S I'm kind of professional traveller and this is a first time that I'm writing this kind of review.
