Off the beaten path
I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in Shenzhen to spend the night. Mainly wanted to sleep but also wanted to find dinner and a couple of drinks. There are quite a few local eateries but as I am a foreigner it is a bit tougher for me to go to a super local location for food, I can order off of a picture menu with the best of them but I was just not in the mood that evening. Anyway, I walked a bit (20 mins or so) to explore the area and found a place for food at a shopping area with quite a few bars and restaurants (City Square Shenzhen) and met a few really nice locals.

Valuable for short stay still ok
Doesn't look like 4 stars hotel, think is just 3 stars. Staff helpful but not very polite but at least they can help you at the end. Room is old and little dark but bed comfortable and fully equipped so still ok, location not convenient, not close to Metro but u can take taxi from Huanggang border its about 5-10 mins and cheap.

worst hotel I have stayed so far
toilet no shower screen, when taking shower entire toilet floor become wet and this is dangerous. Room show sign of old age, hotel seriously need to be renovated and refresh.

overall good. but front desk did not greet. room is cold for winter as there were no heated air coniditon. floor carpet was wet on arrival and most rooms needs to be open and could post security issues as non guest might just hide in room

Overall a good stay in this hotel and in a good neighbourhood close to the metro station. The only bad point was the receptionist. I don't speak Mandarin and it was clearly obvious that there was a communication problem at the beginning when checking in and I did asked if she could speak Cantonese or English. So why continue to speak in Mandarin if we couldn't understand each other? Get someone else. Just bizarre and unnecessary! Another customer waiting at the counter had to translate for her.
