What you can expect

  • Learn the ancient art of mosaic-making by creating your own piece in a workshop led by a master mosaicist, set in Rome’s historic Monti area.

    The workshop will begin with an introduction to the techniques and history of Roman mosaics. Afterwards, you will practice the principles of texture, composition, and marble tile cutting to create your own mosaic to take home. It is fundamental for us to teach the authentic techniques of Roman mosaic craftsmanship. Therefore, your mosaic will fulfil ancient requirements.

    The final result is your own personal mosaic, approximately 7” x 5” in size and weighing 14 oz, to take home. This is a full-immersion work experience, where you will work in an authentic mosaic studio and handle specific tools.

    For safety reasons, we recommend this experience for ages 12 and up.
