We got picked up like 40 minutes before the tour start time, and met our tour guide, Ursula - she's amazing! very enthusiastic and friendly. You can tell that she is genuinely sharing her knowledge about the culture and the animals, which made our experience a lot more enjoyable. We got to see some monkeys at the Muyil ruins. Floating the lagoon was the absolute best part!

Our trip with Carlos from Mexico Kan Tours to the Sian Ka'an preserve was the highlight of our visit to Playa Del Carmen and the Mayan Riviera. Carlos is an awesome guy who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history, culture, and nature of the area. We loved that he brought his art history background to the archaeological portion of the tour, and learned things from him we would have missed if not for his informed interpretation. As for the natural lazy river that we reached by boat (very exciting) I can't explain the beauty except to say you must experience it for yourself. We saw birds and fish I didn't know existed and truly had a blast. Floating was as relaxing as any massage and a lot of fun. At the end of our day we ate a wonderful vegetarian meal of hibiscus tinga with refried beans, delicious sauces, and sweet cornbread for dessert, plus tamarind tea to drink. The home cooked picnic was so welcoming and well planned. I highly recommend this tour.
