What you can expect

This 5-day programme takes you to explore the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a journey back through history. Explore two of the region's most important archaeological sites of Tikal and Yaxha for a look back at the civilisation of the Maya.

Day 1: Once you arrive in Guatemala City, a transfer takes you to Antigua Guatemala. Get settled in at your hotel and get ready for the adventure to come.

Day 2: After breakfast, enjoy a 3-hour walking tour of Antigua Guatemala, including a visit to the Cathedral, Main Square, La Merced Church, and Tanque La Unión. Next, head to the airport for a flight to Peten.

Day 3: In the morning, visit Yaxha to see the Maya ruins at the North Acropolis, stunning ancient roads, and an unrivalled view of the Sacnab-Yaxhá lagoons and jungle. After lunch, transfer to your hotel in Peten.

Day 4: A guided tour takes you to Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest and most monumental Mayan archaeological sites. With a walking tour of the city squares and major temples amid the rainforest, you can see hundreds of exotic birds and a wide variety of wild animals along with the majestic ruins. Have lunch before you head out for your flight back to Guatemala City.

Day 5: Transfer to La Aurora International Airport for your onward flight as your tour comes to an end.
