This Segway Tour will take you on a journey through Barcelona's history, which started at the green mountain located next to the city centre, the Montjuich, more than 2000 years ago. The archaeological remains of the settlement of the Laietani tribe, dated 300 BC, have been found at its foot, making it one of the primary founding communities in the region. The Montjuic has been an epicentre of the cultural and political development of Barcelona and its previous communities. Rising 173 m over the mediterranean sea, its name is derived from the medieval Jewish cemetery located on its north-eastern side. The castle, which can also be reached by cable car and was constructed on the hilltop in 1751, served to defend the city, as well as to control its population. Interestingly, the Montjuic's fortress complemented the citadel whose remains in the Parc de la Ciutadella are also visited at the beginning of the tour.

Montjuic's modern history is not any less interesting than its past. Some of the main sights of Barcelona are located on its hillsides, many of which will be visited during this “out” of the city tour. For example, some major sports facilities of the 1992 Olympic Games; the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi and the Olympic Museum of Barcelona are located on the city's green hill.
