Starting from Piazza San Francesco, the historical city centre, you will observe the still visible traces of the ancient art of silk. These “traces” are not easy to find, but after an explanation, you will see this town with new eyes.

You will have the legend of the golden thread described to you, and learn how the real “made in Italy” was born. Following this, you will reach a unique studio where silk is still woven the way it was in the past. Here, silkworms are raised ethically and non-violent silk is produced before being coloured with natural colours and creating original and incredible artefacts.

You will have the opportunity to touch authentic natural silk with your own hands, to see with your own eyes the ancient looms and to learn everything about the amazing and time-treasured art of silk weaving.
