What you can expect

The Vessel is the $200 million sculptural centrepiece of New York City’s new $25 billion Hudson Yards area, located in the western section of Midtown Manhattan, at the northern end of the famed High Line.

Surrounded by the Public Gardens and Groves at Hudson Yards, the Vessel features a unique interactive art experience, while offering amazing panoramic views.

This iconic sculptural landmark was built from plans by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick and manufactured in Italy, before being shipped to New York. 50 feet (15 m) wide at its base, expanding to 150 feet (46 m) at the apex, the monument comprises 154 intricately interconnected flights of stairs.

Together they form a cylindrical or vessel-type structure from the outside, partially inspired by ancient Indian stepwells. The vessel’s highly reflective polished copper cladding also gives endless opportunities for Instagramable moments.

While at Hudson Yards, don’t miss the opportunity to experience myriad unique restaurants and shops, and visit the highest outdoor observation deck in New York City, the Edge.
